Ascents in Mount Keira by Zac Schofield

2x sort of attempts, Lockdown must be messing with my head because this is a pretty cool slabby climb. Feels close but was pretty cooked

Despite the roof this is somehow the slabbiest climb I’ve tried in a while, there isn’t a bouldery move on it. Not bad but not my style.

2x laps potentially a really cool route, my reach makes engaging the undercling really tough. With reasonable finger strength the route is quite easy other than the crux due to most of the chipped holds being unnecessarily big/ comfortable for the grade and the crux undercling having to overcompensate to maintain the grade.

After a bunch of sessions I lucked out and by some miracle linked from the start to basically the second last holds before the mantle.

Good for learning trad, did direct start

Easy climbing to start then solid 3 move sequence involving a powerful move on a mono pocket to finish

Feel like it would be 2 stars if it wasn't sandy, didn't know i could use the arete so didn't clip the anchors

Good easy climbing, essentially soloed this as my belayer was being taught how to belay for the first time, and was half way up the wall before there was any chance at being caught, which was entirely my fault (kinda wanted to solo it tho)

Brilliant climb, really windy as usual, just hesitated to long before commiting to the roof.
