Ascents by Zac Schofield having Distinct route

Awesome, Super low expectation run at the end of the day. Brilliant climbing on mostly good holds.

Such a sick climb, stoked to send this on the second attempt. Had a sling on the 3rd draw to avoid some of the sketchyness.

Sent 4th shot, not super hard but pretty stretched out, kinda fun

So happy to be done with this, a warmup lap to remember the moves stopped when I decided to let go at the end of the crux, super chill on the next attempt. I think those fantastic new rungs let me keep my head together for the send. Done with a kneepad.

First try of the day

2nd shot, was still unsure of my beta but surprised my self and just cruised through the crux. Such an awesome climb.

Dropped the flash up high due to having non kneebar beta. I was foolish to think the lack of kneebars made sense. Went effortlessly second shot, had a kneebar in for literally all but the first 2 hand moves.

2x laps potentially a really cool route, my reach makes engaging the undercling really tough. With reasonable finger strength the route is quite easy other than the crux due to most of the chipped holds being unnecessarily big/ comfortable for the grade and the crux undercling having to overcompensate to maintain the grade.

Was way to spent to get it done but should be fine when I’m fresh. Got a little stitched up by Alec’s tall man “just reach up to the jug” beta.

Reworked out beta and then had an attempt but the conditions were to bad

3x laps, great value the whole way up

Had a go brushing all the holds, got shut down by that damn first move again, couldn’t commit to it with the unpleasant conditions. The rest of it is still brilliant.

Gave it a proper flash attempt but I’ll blame the Connie’s for making me drop the crux

Cleaning off the spiderwebs and putting draws up, had to stop before the dyno due to massive rope drag from short draws, then seconded to clean due to low energy. Amazing climbing but need to remember to put long draws on and skip the problematic ones.

Despite the roof this is somehow the slabbiest climb I’ve tried in a while, there isn’t a bouldery move on it. Not bad but not my style.

I can see why it’s classic, but it was without a doubt one of the least enjoyable climbs I’ve ever tried. Conditions on the slab were pretty disgusting, the rest of the route just wasn’t fun.

Far out the top of Crime is still nails

3 attempts all ending after the last bolt or on the last hold, brilliant roof climbing with a sloppy vertical section at the end. Having the sun blind you as you go for the last move makes things real spicy.
