Indian Creek is probably the most prominent crack climbing area in the world featuring awesome sandstone cliffs and endless cracks.
It is located in the northern part of the Bears Ears National Monument in the canyonlands area of San Juan County, Utah. Located at about 1700m altitude the prime season is early spring.
Some of the land is private, most is public (BLM) land, please check the maps.
Drive south from Moab and take road 211 towards Canyonlands National Park. There is a sign indicating that you enter Indian Creek, the climbing starts just after "Newspaper Rock" and is distributed throughout the canyon along route 211 and Beef Basin road. Once you pass the wider plains around the Sixshooter Peaks you missed it ;-).
There are some paid campgrounds but there is also plenty of free camping throughout the canyon.
Did you know that you can create an account to record, track and share your climbing ascents? Thousands of climbers are already doing this.
