Ascents of I Have a Dream

EOD lap. Total surprise retro flash.... EXCEPT for the fact I broke a sizeable handhold off at the 3rd bolt (on easy ground at the start), fell a reasonable distance down, pulled straight back on (we were on time constraints by this time of day) and climbed clean to the top. So, not a true tick (by any means), but everything which makes this climb even vaguely hard was climbed cleanly in an epic 45m battle. Botching sequences but fighting on. Awww well... I will come back for the official "by the rulebook" tick, but I'm happy with this effort after having already done 150m of climbing today!

Clean Repeat. Route #1 of the IHaD Wall Triple in a day. Makes a good warmup for the rest of the routes here. Mixed rock quality, but enjoyable climbing. Surprisingly engaging without the optional 0.3 cam near the top!

Absolutely cracking position. The climbing is pretty good and is bolted perfectly for the position IMO.

Rapped down the route, placed the draws had a look at some holds and then sent first shot. Bit of a dream really.

Mega! 50m of pump! If this is in your sights just get on it! The run outs are fine and nothing is too cruxy!

Incredible route!! Good rock, interesting moves and amazing position. All time. Didn't really look at much on the way down, but I guess it's not an OS.

Rapped in with a blindfold to preserve the onsight. Nah, not really. But just bombed down the fixed line and didn't look at anything. No beta, but there was a bit of chalk on it. Atmospheric conditions in the rain and mist.

Stoked to tick this. One of the most memorable routes ive been on.

6 sessions which i think is the most for a G25 project. Stellar route that was never quite done until it was over. Gear list: - 60m static - belay seat - 2 roller biners - rope bag - small pack for belay jacket, water, snacks etc - multiple long slings (didn't use cam at RP crux Route is obv very long but breaks down into a few sections with good rests in between. Technical crux is after fairly straightforward climbing from belay - big span to "breadloaf" style L pinch then another hard move to traverse. Extend heaps here or suffer mega drag above. Big L span on traverse leads to good rest. Easy climbing to RP crux - dropped it here a few times so helps to be fresh and rest well before. Make sure big sandy jug is brushed in advance. Simple climbing to finish.

Sent this solidly (with no breaking holds to steal the send) as a warmup today, totally in control the whole way. A great way to break in 2018, and a good warmup for The Obvious Elbow direct

Alzheimer Flash, I didn't remember any moves from few years ago attempt. Lucky I could rest every 2 moves, 3-4 cruxes got me thinking and I had to push quite hard, didn't cruise it. Memorable ascent. Grateful there were long slings pre-placed on few crux bolts. Didn't find the runouts outrageous as they are on easier sections. New belay bolts are great.

Cracker climbing with awesome exposure (not as run out/scary as expected). Just managed to hold on through that last reachy bit above the cam. Absolute limit, had veins popping everywhere all up my arms/shoulders hah! Pumper

Done with 1 fall (at the bouldery crux) and 2 rests. RUNOUT as all hell through proper hard moves (even relative to a gr25 climb), with very good climbing, and stunning position. A small rack of cams could help to mitigate the runouts (there are some good placements). Stoked to have gotten on this, and I believe it will go with another shot. 5 years ago I Had a Dream to be at a point where I could climb and tick I Have a Dream... I'm there now. I'll be back!

Top roped the top half to warm up (belayed from the top), then another shot at the full lead after 2 hours sitting in the hanging belay. Done with 2 falls (one after the other) after sticking the 1st crux. Pulled back on without rest and linked the top 30m of exhilarating climbing, including the top crux. A mistake in the 1st crux burned too much energy correcting it and cost me the send. Next time I won't make the same mistake. Amazing position and hard climbing.

Glad to finally get on this. It's intimidating, yes. But so awesome. Will be back for sure!

Wowzers. What a route. Would "love" to give it a go on lead!

This is the full package deal! Really beautiful climbing in a mega epic position! didn't use any cams which added a little excitement, nothing to hard during the run outs.

Been trying to jump on this for a LONG time and finally got around to it. Punted off at the top after getting pumped fiddling with a cam for too long. Such an epic adventure with real classy climbing in an overwhelming setting.

What a ripper of a route. Mega sustained and technical the whole way. I think I'd want to give this another go or two on top rope before facing the somewhat run out climbing. Definitely going to be coming back for this!

Absolutely awesome - without a doubt one of the best routes I have ever been on. Sustained, technical and engaging face climbing the whole way. Will definitely give this a shot on lead next time

Wow this place is epic !

I feel this should have gone.. Made a silly foot work mistake after the first crux and fluffed the sequence. Brief sit on the rope and clean through next crux to anchors. Such pleasure to just hang out here and climb this again.

Double sandbag! I have always wanted to try this and Jon took me up on the offer! Hard then I expected especially the bottom. But Ill be back to try again. HOLY SHIIIIIT

Blueies dream proj. Excited and terrified to get back on this. Someday...

Did all the moves but wow do I need more endurance. Felt harder than any other 25 I tried in the bluies, even the individual moves

Punted the last hard move second shot. Fantastic climbing and position.

Helping Liamtemp have a red hot go at the onsight. Me, I jumared pretty much the whole thing, can’t even log this as a dog 😂😂😂

Highlights include:

• Forgetting rope #2 and having to drive back to Blackheath to retrieve.

• Ending up floating in space at the belay anchors and needing to prussic 20ish metres to get the redirect sorted.

• Legs and feet numbing out a few times in the hanging belay.
• Eating the damn tastiest fried chicken in Katoomba post jumar-point.

Maybe not the best day to throw a rope down (across) this. Mega line, don't go when it's windy and near zero degrees. I'll come back another time

Phwaaaa deserves all the praise it gets! Plenty of great moves in a phenomenal location.
