Ascents in Bob's Hollow by Martin Danger

Went direct this time and stuck it. Definitely harder though.

What the! Woohoo! My hardest send yet at Bob's. I really didn't think I would get this, especially with that devilish anchor clip. But, despite fumbling with that anchor for way too long, I did it! Pretty stoked I have to say.

Well, this was a surprise. Didn't expect to get to the top clean without rest. A well timed shout of encouragement from Claire did the trick.

This might be my new favourite route for the next little while...

First time on lead. Pretty happy with that effort. Now to link it together without hanging on that rope!

On top rope trying to get comfy with the 2nd bolt clip. Need to rely on a not so positive hold to clip. Risky clip - must find a secure way to clip it if I'm going to lead this.

First go on Magnus ever. A fraction less difficult than I imagined. Ballsy last move to the anchor though.

Clearly tired now feeling less secure. Will be a little while I think before I go for this on lead.

Warm up.

Variation - tried to miss a few moves but found myself on the wrong hand having to clip. Will work on this move though as it will make the climb quicker.

Cleaning at the end of the day.

Speed climb attempt: 55s 8-o

Had a rest at the last bolt knowing that the last section would push me to my limit but, in the end, while it was hard for me, it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. Should have gone for the red point!

Definitely should have put the pro higher than I did. Next time, the sling will go through the stal at its highest point.

Tried the direct route for the first time and made it. Holds aren't as confidence inspiring but easily good enough to get you through. Would say the direct route is a 20.

A little sketchy at times looking for a place to place pro...but fun climb nonetheless.

Got all mixed up getting off the flake

Sorted out the flake issue and cruised up! Finally got the red point on lead.

Wow! Rock was grippy today and the climb felt, well, almost easy 8-o

It's a powerful finish if you aren't tall nor keen on having your legs above your head - lol!

Worked out the last move needed to clip the anchors (probably the 2nd hardest move of the climb) so next attempt should be clean.
