Stuck the low crux and just squeaked out the roof. Then I was bricking, because I'd only ever gone to the top twice before and there lots of climbing up there! Not to mention my bleached quickdraws had been hanging for 6 months... Anyway, it all worked out. Also, bonus belay from first ascentionist. So psyched. [11]

FFA. Totally my jam - steep and mostly jugs. Very consistent up to the sting in the tail. There is some conjecture as to whether this should be 29 or 30. I figure you can either do Arkenstone's start boulder or you can't. If you can, there would be no change in difficulty between the routes. But I can't, so I therefore feel 29 is justified. [4]

Really weird. Tired arms to start this end of day lap. I do not remember pulling the crux. Suddenly I was holding the jug at the end of the pounce. On the top headwall I was super relaxed with no expectations, and stayed attached. Team send with Mr Hoyle. [19]

Adventuresome and long. Felt easier than the shorter more popular 12s.

Of course I go for the one roof with a kneebar.

Was a rest day, but at about 3pm, decided to walk up the hill and have a quick go. Good move, as it turns out. Four goes in 2012, four this trip. [8]

FFA. Good to use a bit of trip fitness to get a project done! Links Force Cannon into Farkenright via a long but safe runout (no new bolts). Climb all of the hard bit of FC to the horizontal break just before the ledge. Now bust directly right via a tricky boulder, then jugs across the break to the hourglass hold, continuing R as per Farkenright. Lots of roof climbing! Use a couple of slings or rollers to reduce drag. I was originally thinking 29, but this ended up going quickly, much quicker than Pit Boss.

Great to finally get on this one and get it done, especially in light of its reputation as probably the lowest quality route on the wall. On a wall this good, even if that were true, it remains an excellent route. Might be easier? The difficulty of the two boulder cruxes (especially the first) would be quite height-dependent. 4th ascent. [3]

Sent first try today in the midst of huge rainstorm. The top slab somehow stayed mostly dry, except the top 4 holds. I was bricking it. [3]

Done as the warm up today, wow! 7 degrees, brr! On my first tries on this I thought it was 30 for sure. After finangling it some more I think Jake was spot on. A good 41st birthday present. 4th ascent after Jake, Lee and Holger. [7]

Finally! First tries on this back in 2012 with Duncan. Only ever dabbled on it here and there since then. Finally decided to put in some work and actually get it done. Still, took 3 days this season. It's a funny old route. Everything feels super doable off the rope, but boy it takes a toll on redpoint. [16]

Stuck the crux, almost dropped the crossover jump to the flake, then managed to hang in to the top and the potential heartbreaker last move victory dyno. For steep, big hold, dynamic pumper climbing, it doesn't get much better than this. I wish there was 100 more just like it. [5]

In 83% humidity, the onsight of this techy thing was no doubt the best climbing performance of my trip thus far. I was maxxed.

This actually felt harder than Fapanese. Pretty solid for the grade, especially down low - techy and balancy.

FFA. This should prove pretty popular (if the draws are on?) as it's really consistent on nearly all jugs. As for Farkenstone, but instead of tackling Arkenstone's roof boulder, keep trucking right (3 more clips) to finish on the skyline. Steepy McSteep.

To the top. But at least 3 moves I didn't manage to do including the low dyno to the sika hold (crux move for sure), and the weird top corner/slab transition. A very cool endurance monster, with none of the kneebar rests you may expect.

FFA. 4 days bolting, 10 mins to send. I love the steeps.

Pretty moderate to a sitdown, and then 4 bolts of really cool steep bouldering including a kneebar rollaround crux. This deserves way more attention! [3]

The dyno is just awesome, then pumpy after that. For me, this is a slightly easier version of Pit Fit.

Thought this was Muscle Hustler until I scrutinised the topo. This is covered in chalk and full permadraws. I can advise where Muscle Hustler breaks left there is zero chalk and no permadraws.

Steep and burly, and short enough to ensure I didn't overheat. I like.

One burn. Primarily working on first crux. To top with a stick. 75% humidity and HOT. Sorted kneebar.

Two burns. 80% humidity. Hideous. Broke my phone.

So apparently there is a trick for the start? I didn’t find it! Dynoed past the flake to what looked to be a hold and was a hideous sloper. No idea how I stayed on. Felt grade a million in the heat.

Highpoint slapping the crux throw, but skin was screaming. No two-days-on on this one for me.
