Start corner felt like the crux. The rest just kind of happened by keeping on chugging. Felt good but was so hot and sweaty.

Don't know how I stayed on. So fun!

The most wild move I've done outside of a climbing gym. A wall run to a jug on an arete and then beautiful climbing to the top. Sick!!

First redpoint burn after working moves on lead the day before.

I hope this stays as the most sandbagged 24 at Araps instead of being upgraded. probably harder than most 25s around and some of the 26s. Went first lead attempt without inspecting the gear, however this could have been a good idea. Got to the crux where I was sure a blue hex would slot in but found it to be too big for any of the gear I brought with me. I ended up stacking a red and blue hex which seemed to not be going anywhere, committed to the crux move and sent. stoked! A bum rock classic!

Discovered that on my onsight go a few weeks ago, I had done the crux. Felt beautiful and flowy, great day!

Sent in full sun, definate ground fall if you came off clipping the 2nd bolt, which is a little scary considering there are no handholds. The rest of the bolting is good and nuts or small cams can be taken for the top if desired. A super quality and technical route.

Warmup send

Definitely recommended to rap inspect this one before getting on it. The RP and micro cam placements at the crux are blind and fiddly. The moves and rock quality are fantastic. Shame it gets a little close to Bautzen just to the right. Felt good the whole way!

New beta worked a treat!

Got the moves sorted. Some of the best moves in the gorge especially down low. Once the bolts are replaced I'll get on the sharp end.

Sat at about 3/4 height after doing the hard work but getting very pumped on a crimp placing gear. Found plenty of good stuff and used all of my rps and micro nuts. Some great moves and some less than great rock. Glad I gave in an onsight attempt.

So close to onsighting. Climbed past the crux but at night with a terrible head torch was misled by some chalk next to a huge foothold. Stood on the tiny chip with the chalk which broke when I moved off it. Would have been a non event in daylight. After using the right foothold climbed clean to the chains.

One fall. Unbelievable day out. Weather was sublime, my family came to watch, the route is so beautiful, and there were no hiccups. Felt like a breeze shame about the fall but it did not take away from the experience at all.

2 attempts placing gear. Heaps of small stuff right near the bolts. Unfortunately illness and not climbing in weeks had me very pumped for the last hard moves and I dropped it both times.

worked out gear and beta on the first burn tied in for a red point ascent did one move and then decided I was way to exhausted to jump on.

Great moves, protection is bad. 2nd bolt is in a terrible spot, requires at very least a 60cm draw to clip safely but longer is better and then a short draw on the same bolt.

Absolutely on the whole way, the first bolt is really hard to clip and the 2nd seems pretty high and dangerous. Cool layback finger intense movements

Fell again at the crux. Felt really good up to there but never found good beta for one foot move. Then went to the top

Got inverted well and was making progress but could not get past a cam and then slipped out of a no hands rest upside down 🙃. The hand crack at the end is much harder than I expected as well

Great rock, weird movement at the start and pumpy placing gear at the top. Topout is also difficult

This climb is spectacular! So steep and the belay stance is epic. Traverse moves around the arete on slopers is one of the best sequences of climbing I've done. Really keen to try this when the low crux isn't a waterfall. Might have a chance at pulling the moves then.

Fell above the 2nd bolt and back cleaned back to the anchor.

totally spanked! the 21st birthday celebrations this weekend certainly didn't help with my physical and mental state.
