Friendly bolting & holds

One off-kilter move to sloper near the bottom, then plain sailing.

I did stick-clip the 2nd bolt - who wants a low crux?

Actually put in all the draws this time. Felt solid.

More fun with the direct start, not the right hand easier move.

Checked afterwards - been 3 years since I've done this climb, and the first time I've lead it. I should have used my own beta to reach way left and climb from under the ledge, but managed to find a way to clip from the balancy right before committing. Fun finish round the side, good jug once you step up.

Not sure which is easier - using the arete to the left, or going straight up. Both usable alternatives.

Fun, (very) short and pumpy - fine with a sequence

Fell off at the bottom - the crack holds not as nice as you'd want - but started again and got there - apparently I took an odd route at the end using handholds as footholds.

Pumpy start, but enough jugs to help you get up to somewhere you can stand. Fun.

Add another slightly committing move at end if you want to go level, not just clip anchors from below.

Nice varied climbing (spoilers). I went crimpy left at the 2nd bolt to avoid a water feature, but more juggy pumpy right also doable alternative. Nice laybacking in middle as long as you've some strength. Feels a little desperate traversing towards the finish but reach diagnally left to saviour hold. Finish fine if just tapping bolts on a top-rope - way more demanding if hanging on overhang leading clipping them.

Little sequence at the bottom - left foot in hole, right hand in mono, right foot on tiny lip under pebble, stand, r-e-a-c-h left hand past bolt to ok hold. Crux done, then fairly friendly, then downright juggy to finish.

Nice I didn't realise I've never got this before, just a failed attempt 8 years ago!

Farting about with an 80m rope we couldn't initially get down inspired me to write the above description (hopefully better than none). Would have been much better off with a shorter rope forcing us to use the mid-point belay anchors.

Managed it second time round. Crux probably the first move, although getting my body right (eventually) with a left foot layback made things much easier. Great area, feels like you're miles from the nearby highway.

A few holds been pulled off this one, hey.

Yeah, definitely a puzzle to solve at the crux , the hidden hold over the lip on the cave.

I think this is what we did - just so many bolts in a small area, and the topo is just spaghetti of 10 lines crossing each other to get to shared anchors

Didn't feel so bad today. Doable.

Next time - I worked out the crux move 2nd attempt.

Holds all the way, but sustained & I found the draw too tempting when clipping on tiring forearms

Nasty 4-5m high first bolt on not that friendly start, then ugly, slippery holds stepping across and going up the flake. No rewards when you do something tricky, just more slopey nothingness.

Says 15 in the Nowra Climbing book. Seriously? Have all the holds broken off? I couldn't even get started.

Making it very clear I've got no crack technique - and then things just got harder on the blank wall in the 2nd half.
