We put up with the mediocre sidestops of bluies and buffalo and stuff, its not the focus but we put up with it.. all of it, in order to achieve the main aim of going down the road to kurraba point ferry stop in sydneys suburban north with uncle craigs outdoor couch cushions and togs for the harbour cool-off afterwards, and having a crack at the local layback boulder. This delicate little piece was almost worth the warm up fall that cost me my sunnies. Nice delicate aretelayback and a measured deadpoint up high. The best part of it: yim was too short to reach the start hold. Karma for that self-advocating disco crag write up. To all aspiring headpointers, theres a rusted carrot up top if god forbid youve got the time, patience and desire for public embarrassment to bring a rope here.
A fun few hours refusing to sit start at the real crag, trying to get stuck in the chimney, creating a more wholesome variant finish to the route called 'not a club trip', going to annoy all of the real boulderers, then coming back up here to muck around in the chimney some more. The boys and their chicken wings.. sometimes you just cant get in the way. great to see the gang getting wide!
..is not what santa is thinking when half the hommus jar has disappeared into thin air. Nice choice of face/crack at the start and a very secure chockstone pull up to top out at the lookout.
Nice crumbly off-width highball to put all the relatively new climbers on lol.. Quite safe up the top though and pretty downclimbable from the knee jam section. A lovely top out at the lookout. Great to see some boulderers having a crack!
