Ascensioni in Melanesia

First working sesh, 7a+ to a hard moonboard v4, then grade 25 to the top. Very sustained but moves felt more doable than No Pasaran.

Second tie in, 90% humidity, could hardly pull the moves with wet holds but managed to climb through the crux, had a rest then went to the top. Maybe the style works for me, but doesn't seem as tricky as No Pasaran.

Third go, great! Didn't realize it was unclimbed so assumed it was a recent route, apparently an old project 🤷

Hard - have to try this in better conditions. Hot and spoogy is not the go.

First attempt - felt impossible, couldn’t do the crux move sequence. Pulled through and did the over to the top. Sent Scotty up who found a hold for the crux.

Second attempt - felt impossible. Managed to pull some absolute bullshit and made every move 3 grades harder. But worked

2nd ascent, the morning after KP did it. Nice crimpy section from what i remember.

We discussed it back then as a potential 27, but for me went too easy for a 27. So 26 seems about right.

Blew the onsight using a bad sequence in the roof. Not too bad after that, plenty of rests.

Not a virgin no more! After several full days of cleaning and bolting I'm very happy to have sent this on my second real attempt. Was so excited that I skipped a clip at the crux and pulled a nice piece of rock off on the way up! Bust through the choss to reach a cruxy few moves then enjoy the adventure out and up the arete to the top. Not over until it's over.

Broke a footer while clipping the chains and went for a looong ride down. Great route though with some cool bouldery cruxes

Sent! third go of the day.. Amazing line in an awesome setting. The movement through the two cruxes is superb. The view from the rests makes it all the better.

Such an awesome line. Another candidate for best climb at the crag. Cruxy and varied climbing up some of the best quality rock around.

Classic. Bit like the hard routes at sharon stone, boulder, rest, boulder.

Damn the bottom sequence is pumpy! And the top crux is hard. But really nice moves.

So fucking close!!!!!! fell trying to hold the finger lock! the snapped the main jug in the of the crux still climbable but will be harder.

I’ll get it next time (I hope!). The top crux sequence is amazingly nice!

After 7 months this it finially went down! Totally read specific climbing that keeps you thinking!

Couldn’t be more stoked.first at the grade. Such a mega line. Gotta nail every move precisely through the long crux.
