We stumbled around the cliff tops foolishly for an hour or so on the walk in until I saw climbers below me on Hotel California! Then stuck the coordinates in Google maps and finally took the left fork (which Andrew had suggested an hour before) to the beautiful elliptical rock formation.

The most fun pitch I'd say, coming from the inside face and gaining the arete on the outside is super cool. I felt a bit pumped at the start, maybe because it was the first climb. The belay stance is a bit sketchy, be careful and crossing to the other side, we actually belayed the first person (just in case) and used the stick clip for the first draw.

One hard move just after the second bolt, then another session that could get you pumped and you are safe to reach the top. But, you still gotta get out of there. We used the Welsh Dragon exit, skipping the first pitch (aid), by swigging across and reaching the belay stance after the traverse right of the first pitch of Welsh Dragon. I'll add some info in the Welsh Dragon tick. | 71m | Blue Mountains | ★★★ Mega Classica | Gio 9 Mar 2023
No doubt the most adventurous day of climb for me so far. Also one of the most beautiful places in the blue mountains that I have seen, the view is simply incredible.
Definitely a summer climb, we were feeling cold even in a hot day.
First Rappel - We used a 67m fixed line for the first abseil which wasn't enough to skip the second rappel, so we ended up having to do 3 abseils. A 80m rope would do the job. Second Rappel - (not needed if the first fixed line is 80m long). Less than 30m Third Rappel - The 70m rope was just enough, even though it did not totally reach the ground, we could swing to a taller rock and get to the ground (if you do this be careful not to let the 2 ends of the rope go when the last person finishes the abseil, it would be a pain if not impossible to recover it. We were 2 groups of 2, started around 8:30am from the car park and back to the car around 8pm, definitely a big day and the wondering around also added to it. |

Beautiful climb. Truly epic with large swells and high winds to build the atmosphere.
IMPORTANT While I was belaying my partner up the final pitch, sitting on the edge of the cliff, I believe one of the locals called the police as they feared that I was a suicide risk. This resulted in the police arriving and fining both me and my partner for 'crossing a national park boundary'. Not sure if the fine will eventuate or not, and I intend to dispute it if it seems legally feasible, but it's worth putting in the record that fines have been received at this location. |

One of the most classic routes in K-Bay. Highly recommendable. It’s not about the difficulty of the climb here (it’s all really good holds) but more about the different styles of climbing, the moves, and the stunning view once you get to the anker on top of the cave. Did the multipitch twice.

P1: A little bit of pump from the earlier climbs and I couldn't do the starting move with the backpack on, had to downclimb and leave it with Jess. Thanks Jess!
P2: found the traverse left a little tricky on second with the rope tugging me off balance, but there are great jugs around the arete. P3: Got too focused on the climbing and completely forgot to take in the exposed position, oops. Nice views from the belay ledge though. P4: second crux of the climb at the bulge, I went left on easier jugs after seeing Jess struggle with the direct line above the bolt. P5: I somehow wandered onto the U bolt at the top of 'SMPU' after running the rope out 15m over a bunch of sharp, rope-dragging plates. Not sure I was on route, but it was a pretty poor pitch if so. About 2.5 hours bottom to top, with a bit of time wasted waiting for other parties and trying to find the carrots. Caught the sun on P5 but fortunately the wind kept things cool. |

Flash coz I did climb the first few metres last time. A bit more exciting after rain - all the good, protectable crack bits were dry but the ledges were muddy.
P2 was probably the longest successful lead of my life, mostly getting on to the vegetated ledge - something like climb up, fondle wet ledge, downclimb, apply chalk, try another wet hold, that was a waste of chalk, downclimb, shake out calves, upclimb... eventually found a hidden root that seemed strong enough to pull on! On the plus side, the 'thought provoking' finger crack felt very easy after that, being all dry.
Cedric was glad for the #6 on p3, that overhanging offwidth is wild!
Took doubles, an extra #1, 2, and set of hexes, which all came in handy.

Very nice climbing, a few committing moves but the holds are all there, including ones for my shoulder jam. A couple of bolt hangers and some large cams will definitely make you feel better!

Jugs and ledges galore, but bolts are wickedly spaced out. Easy but very heady lead, lots of exposure. Would love to do it again.

Very easy traverse, but looks dramatic and cool to the people watching from a nearby scenic overlook. We exited after pitch 2 and did not do pitch 3 or 4. You couldn't pay me to do pitch 4, looks horrendous.

Pitch 2 has numerous death blocks and a bit chossy. Also didn't see a good way to get down (walk and rap angular crack maybe?) | 46m | Blue Mountains | Ven 2 Feb 2024

Definitely a classic. Super enjoyable climbing on the first pitch. Second is jsut a scramble but the third is an epic and super airy but pretty well protected chimney witha re-birth narrowing at the top. Well worth a climb
