Got 2/3s the way up, realised there weren’t any more draws. 😂 Fumbled the crux clip second shot, should have just skipped both draws and sent it. Wish I tried this at the start of the trip, very achievable for me. 🤷‍♀️

Fell at the crux putting the draws in, but felt more comfortable than usual on this terrain.

Second go felt good, barely gripped at all. I think I even enjoyed it!

Fell off a hilarious amount of times. All footwork + fading light made it quite the challenge will tidy up some other day, need to work this shit.

Fell off slightly less than last time but I didn’t have the excuse “it was dark” this time, so… 🤷‍♀️

Blew a foot from a knee bar about 1/3 the way up on the onsight, not that I expected to onsight anyways! Was going pretty good till the tufa fins, then it gets pretty tricky. Thought this would be right up my alley with all the knee bars, but it still feels super sustained. Not sure if this will be my first 7c proj in Kaly. Got a bit lost getting into the big tufa at the bottom second attempt, fought up around 1/3 of the way and punted off. First go trashed me!

Really nervous for some reason, maybe because of a first 7b onsight opportunity. So amped the whole way up, couldn’t calm down. Very different style wise for Kaly, sharp and crimpy! Blew it at the crux.

Bit tired on the second go, (after doing "Valhalla") but was the first calm pitch I had. Nice climb but rough on skin!

It’s either 6a+/6c/7a depending who you ask/which bits you do I guess. The bouldery campus start was a bit wild! 😂

Feeling the 5 days in a bit but knew where I was going. If I went for the 2 finger pocket after the crux yesterday it would have taken 3 goes rather than 6. C’est la vie. 🤷‍♀️

Very cool line, pumpy! Went pretty well on the traverse, and about half way up the steep headwall.

Thought it would go second shot... it didn't.

 

1. Went really well up to crux ledge, didn't quite get it right, tried proper hard anwyays, made another move then punted off. One move from glory. 😢

2. Felt really good then did some weird dyno thing to the ledge and punted off.

3. Climbed really smoothly, just too tired, first go = best go, yet again.

Really fun but pretty soft for a 7a here. Ladder was the pumpiest bit!

Ladder was the pumpiest bit! Ange is better I reckon but the grade was a bit closer to the mark on this one. Still probs bit soft though.

Nice intro to Kaly climbing. Put the draws on for Dale who said he’d clean it and didn’t!

Warm down, got pretty pumped!

Defo my anti style, probably made it into a 7b in places but I persevered! Terrifying!

Should have onsighted this the over day really, felt cruisy today. Classy climbing.

Last climb of the day, was getting pretty pumped even on good holds! Might have to have a rest day tomorrow. 🥵

Was a good candidate for my first 7b flash but turns out I needed my hands the other way round for the crux. Ah well.

Crux felt pretty good but somehow got super pumped at the end and skipped the last draw as I was too pumped to clip it. Bit of an exciting finish! Fun climb but I think "Keket Blues" is classier.

Probably one of my most stressful climbing experiences in recent history. My belayer was first struggling with the 'biner/GriGri (in hindsight a sign of things to come!) then short-roped during the crux sequence and then asked "do you want more slack at the anchor?" despite me not being at the anchor, nor signalling I was at the anchor. Finally, I pulled over the bulge near the top and heard something I construed as "off belay" (I later found he was saying "out of sight", but I couldn't really hear due to said bulge), I then preceded to climb (although I thought was soloing) to the anchor while shouting lots of profanities. Quite the experience!

Came down from my first incredibly stressful attempt, pulled the rope and went straight up for another crack. Think I was still pretty pumped (more from stress than climbing intensity) and still fell at the crux. Oh well some kind of good conditioning I guess.

Invented new beta on the crux second go, but got through with sheer determination to redeem my self.

 

1. Thought this was gonna’ be my first proper red point go. Got to the first “crux” and somehow my previous beta didn’t work anymore. Had to find my third beta through there. 🤷‍♀️ Climbed to the top, lowered to the bottom of the head wall. Climbed the headwall in one link on top rope. Very pumped, felt dubious.

2. Scrappy start, somehow got into the flow on the headwall and just shook my way to the top. Right on the limit for the last few moves. Bloody brilliant!

 

1. Figured out the moves, nothing individually complicated, just consistently pumpy. Really like it, might be my new proj.

2. Fell coming out the lip, the knee bar is cool but causes a big swing.

3. Tired. Heel to right hand match was better to prevent cutting.

Gave it a burn as Eli was attempting it. Bloody bouldery start! Was pretty cool but don’t think it’s gonna be my first 7c!

What a bloody weird number. Literally nearly fell clipping the chains. Hardest climb of the day! Lol 😂

In blazing sun defo added something! Pretty cool.

So different to the thuggish pocket pulling in the morning. Pretty techy and sequencey. Got a bit wigged out by the run out slab at the top.

Really cool movement, lots of high feet and pressing, didn't really pull on anything. Felt more like 6b that 7a tbh tho.

Another cool route, felt like climbing a piece of charcoal, again felt several grades below advertised, I think being taller is was definelty advantagous...

Got in a pickle near the top and went left when it should have been right. But came good in the end. Dry fired off some sponge at the bottom too. Bit of a miraculous onsight really!

Was still in the sun and felt outragously greasey for the first few metres, the bigger the hold, the greasier it was, nearly punted off at around the third draw while being hilariosly pumped for the grade. Seemed to get better as I got higher. Probably quite nice when not in blazing sun. 🥵

Too bloody hot for anything harder! Nice jam opportunity!

Last climb of the day so I could tick something! Knackered probably would have fallen off on anything harder. Cool route, big moves on big holds.

Pumpy warm up! Great fun.

One of those “warm ups” that didn’t really warm me up physically but kinda’ freaked me out mentally (it was a bit ledgy/weird) so I was kinda’ worse of than when I started! 🤷‍♀️

Honestly liked this way less than Ivi and found it harder. (Condys we’re super sweaty tho 🥵). Polished and wet not my fav tbh.

Gotta’ be one of the best at the grade on the island!
