Ascents by Jason McCarthy having Distinct route

Other than Snake Dike on Half Dome I have never put so much effort in to climb one route. Totally worth the 14 hour day to climb this and get home. Amazing climbing in a world class positon, solid for the grade. Every climber should get out here once in their life.

Awesome route. Followed Jenna up the 1st pitch, great moves and rock. Led 2nd pitch, not with much style but happy to get it clean.

Very exciting pulling moves like that way above gear.

Pitch 1 only. Great stuff, scary slippery start.

Only just got this, its hard! Awesome rattly fingers splitter.

Super cool route. Peaking at the top.

I should climb trad more often, probably my 3rd route in 2 years. Awesome but nice and soft.

P1 only. Very easy climbing with a couple of interesting sections.

Totally awesome. Excellent rock, sustained climbing, perfect location.

This would get mega classic if the rock was better quality through the lower section. Total sandbag at 20. Gear gets better just as you pull through the roof on wild moves, awesome climbing continue up to the arete where it doesn't let off. I'm claiming the onsight even though I stuffed up the first 3 meters of climbing.

Rapped down and chalked some holds as it was quite damp. Placed some draws and a few bits of gear. Amazing route and quite exciting in the dampness, keen to check out the neighbours.

Inspected and placed gear when cleaning Christian Crack. Super exciting up the arete.

Doesn't get much better than this! Best Trad route I have ever done. Amazing rock, bomber gear but a little fiddly/pumpy and beautiful views from the top.

What a location! I was thinking wow this looks full on as I rapped down. Belayed Jenna for her onsight attempt and then with a little beta from her I got the flash. Awesome slightly overhanging pumper in a epic location!

Awesome lower 3/4 but the top is contrived. Still great fun!

Pulled the gear and led in style. First 22 Trad red point!

Wow what a route! Felt like I was back on the totem pole. Hung around for ages trying to work out what to do at the second last bolt before commiting to some awesome arete climbing. Didnt notice the last carrot bolt and scarily ran it out!

Two bumblies go trad climbing on aussie day! P1 2nd clean after falling off the start once. This pitch is hard and super good. P2 OS Pretty average and not much gear. P3 2nd shot after pumping off the start, not very interesting. Best way to enjoy this route is rap off the tat after P1. Classic if only climbing P1 and you don't have to bush bash off the top.

This is route is a bit strange. Rapped in off to the side and couldn't get to the tiny belay ledge. Started a couple of carrots higher which are super close together. Really hard start which was made difficult trying not to kick my belayer. Super awkward flared fist crack at top.

Jumping to the jug looked crazy for us short people. Climbing up instea . Pumpy insecure start. Read the crux wrong and stupidly fell off, pulled back on and climbed to the top. Great rock quality.

Started up Icebird. Struggled a lot with fiddly gear on this and pumped out. Was much more face climbing than I expected. Didn't enjoy this as much as dirty dancing, felt much more desperate and not as an impressive line when looking at the whole route.

Mega mega approach. Where do I start, first up I couldn't rap to the 2nd belay with double 50's. Fell off on super sharp slab crux on pitch one, pulled on draw to pass it. 2nd pitch was awesome and would be classic if it was more accessible. Pitch 3,4 and 5 were very average. Several of the U bolt are made with a too small radius and sunk too deep allowing only super skinny biner to be used. Rock was horribly sharp. Found the hike in too be more enjoyable than the climb.

Looks like a great line. Right side of corner is absolute choss. Dont bother.
