Ascents by Dominik having Distinct route

Nice and varied climb. Starts easy, getting gradually harder towards the top.

What a fight! Struggled a lot to get the feet in place before the crux move. I'd say that's a crux of its own. Finally in place my hopes were low for sticking the crux move into the left-hand pocket. But I managed somehow and really didn't want to let go this time.

Felt quite in control throughout the lower section. Nevertheless, I was fairly pumped when reaching the chains.

The whole route felt surprisingly easy compared to when I first climbed it some months ago. Basically, there are just many good rest positions. Still struggled a bit from the last draw to the anchor.

Took advantage of the day and gave it a shot in lead. Crux and everything went just as well as on top before. Very happy to get this one done.

One go putting up the draws and working the sequences.

Then, inspired by Viet's send, I gave this a proper go and it went down smoothly.

Crimpy and sustained all the way. Had a good go while putting up the draws, but got pumped out. Second go went smoothly and I'm happy to have done it already

Good route with ample rest positions.

On the second go. Although I almost got the sequence in the crux wrong.

Nice one. Interesting traverse step into a hard crimpy section. Then a short respite before the crux over the bulge.

Was supposed to be the last try of the day on this one. Got through the lower section smoothly and also clipping was fine. Executed the beta in the crux and was in the same situation as before: thought I'd have to let go of the good hold because too pumped and not catching it good enough. But I pulled myself together somehow kept on and held it. Relieved that I can close this chapter for now.

First attempt to put up draws and re-learn the moves. Second to send.

What a hard start. All the options for choosing hand and footholds make it difficult to find a repeatable sequence. The rest is alright. Though on my send I did use the cheater ledge near the last bolt.

Some tricky sections in the vertical/steep wall. And then a never-ending slab.

Almost a one move wonder. From the top of the boulder it's one hard section through the slanting cracks and then you're kind of done.

Has a few unnecessary meters at the top when you need to traverse right to go to the shared anchor of the two neighboring routes.

Happy I was doing this in top rope. Nasty section when the orange rock starts. Had no idea how to go climb this. So I went left around it through the neighboring route. Then before the last overhang there is again such a gnarly move. Had the belayer help me with the rope. Tough one!

We spoke later with the route setter, Txenxo, who told us some holds had broken and that it's not a 6c anymore. He's thinking about potentially changing the course of the route and probably also changing the grade.

Had a final go in top, but apparently was already too pumped from the previous climbs.

Long. And the hard part is at the end when it gets really fingery.

Crux felt hard. Not really sure I found the proper sequence. It seemed like you can reach the good pocket high up with the right hand if you place the feet high and twist sideways.

Lower crux too hard for me today, had to aid it. Also trouble with upper crux, but eventually managed.

Felt quite hard for me today. Couldn't figure out the crux above midway and had to aid it.

Batiste later told me, that he found a shallow two-finger (sideways) pocket just above and right of the chalked flat sloper hold. But even getting there seems quite hard.

On small sharp crimps over the bulge - too hard for me. Aided.

We did this as an extension of 'Yonki woman de la roca'.

Got on this one without realising that the black stain was actually wet. Used clipstick to get past the black patch (which is also the crux section)

Hard throughout for me.

Felt better than I remembered. But still don't have a good sequence for the crux.

I almost managed to do the start boulder once on several tries, but eventually failed. Aided to the jug and climbed the rest fine - which was fun.

Very easy until you reach the corner. Then interesting. Made a mistake and went to the chains of El gendarme.

Quite easygoing save for the crux high up. In itself the crux is not that hard, but you've done quite a bit of climbing to get there. And near the top there is quite some rope drag, too.

We used an 80m rope and there were quite some meters left on the rope. The climbers who were on the route before told us they had used a 70m rope and it was just long enough.

This route asks a lot from you - and then some more.

Dogged my way up from bolt to bolt. Felt quite hard for 6c.

This route should not have been bolted!

The neighboring routes left and right are so close, that you're constantly wondering whether you are actually in your own route or already climbing the other one.

Additionally, if there's a climber on one of the other two routes, there's a real danger of falling on top of them (or vice versa).

All of this reduces the joy of the climb. In terms of grade, maybe soft 6c or 6b+.

The thin and hard crux combines both the worst hand and footholds in one concentrated spot. Desparate to get through.

Beta for next time: The important part is to get the right foot to the "good" foothold far right. At first you cannot reach it but only the tear drop shape foothold, but using that one felt a bit like a dead end for me. It's better to take some invisible intermediate footholds with the left to reach the good foothold with the right.

From there it's still hard till the next draw, but if you keep it together, then you'll manage.

Super steep route. Feels a lot harder than the 6b+ on the left.

The rock quality in the overhang is not very good. It's crumbly at times and I can imagine that some of the crimps now won't be there anymore in a year.

The biggest jug of the overhang was loose and I kicked it free on my way down. The good news is that there is still a good hold behind where the good jug was. In any case, the belayer should wear a helmet.

Got through the halfway crux nicely. Up in the mini chorreras it's easy to get lost on which feet and hand holds to choose. Broke one foothold and ran out of juice shortly after.

Great friction, no magnesia at all on the route.

This route hasn't been climbed a lot, yet. There was no magnesia on it at all.

Bit awkward start, then alright until the big ledge. From here a desperate section on small crimps and bad footholds. The slab then eases a bit but remains challenging - not offering much for the hands.

Struggled a lot with the crack. In the end I pulled on the quickdraw. Further up quite a big foothold broke and almost hit my belayer.
