Nice crag in Svartskogen. Looks a bit crumbly from the path, but has some very interesting climbing on good protected routes. Although you can hear the E18, it's a place in quite lovely nature close to the parking. At the parking there's also a nice picnic-area at the river. The wall is in the sun until round about 2 pm.

Follow the way over the bridge and then to the right for about 50 m. You can then follow the "Oldtidsveien" up to the left for 20 m and turn right into the forest to get to the wall.

Newly developed (and re-developed) crag in 2019-2020, with mostly vertical/slab routes on small holds and crystals. Short, easy approach (<10 minutes) and a good variety of grades.

approach

Accessible by car or public transport, make your way to the Skullerud ski area where the crag is just visible over the trees. Follow the pedestrian path under the massive ski bridge, across the main ski area, and take the left fork a couple of minutes later. Follow the dirt/asphalt road up for a few minutes and keep left when it splits. You will soon see a wide, flat path leading to the wall. See also this photo which shows the way.

The most city near crag you'll ever visit! The Cliff is facing West. Mostly steep face climbing on positive holds.

Street parking in a residential area 200m north of the crag. Walk down a gravel pathway through a small park area and you'll see the crag through a lot of trees on your left. If you arrive by subway (T-bane) it's approximately 15 minute walk to the crag

The crag is in middle of a residential area. Keep the noise a bit down to respect the residents and as always avoid littering.

(60.224051, 10.643051) Follow the blue marked trail to " Store Klattertjern". When the trail splits, take right. Trail still marked blue. Follow the trail around the small lake called "Lille Klattertjern" After the lake take left on a trail marked with red and white plastic ribbons that will lead you to the crag. Total length of the approach trail from Svartbekken is 4.1 km.

Park at large parking lot towards the end of Årvollveien (west of Isdammen). From there it is only a few minutes walk to the crag, just east of Isdammen.

First developed in the early 90's by Klaus Sandvik and Vidar Velde, but later rarely used. The crag was rebolted, cleaned and expanded in the spring of 2020 by Sverre Tingstein and Olav Vestlie.

Follow E6 from Oslo to Oslo Airport (Gardermoen). Shortly before the airport terminal follow road E16 (towards Hønefoss/Nannestad). Follow E16 until you can turn right onto road 120 towards Maura. When you get to Maura, take a right in the roundabout (on Mauravegen) and then left onto Holkebyvegen. Follow the road till the end where you have a roundabout with a bus stop (called Kløvberget). The crag is here. No approach; you can park right by the crag (parking lot just right of the roundabout by Kløvberget bus stop).

Park at Mokollen Barnehage, and walk up the paved path to the top of the cliff where there is a viewpoint with several stone benches. From here walk right along the cliff until you reach a stone block with the name "Vealøs" inscribed. Follow the arrow in the direction of "Vealøs" down the steep stone "stairs", then follow this ledge towards the right. After passing a big juniper bush and reaching a stone block, follow the somewhat unclear path down to the next ledge. Continue downwards over more rocks and through some bushes (path still a bit unclear), until you get down to a very obvious path. Follow this path to the left towards the crag. You will see signs towards the sectors "Flaket" and "Skogshammeren" - the sign towards "Skogshammeren" gets you to the main wall.

A nice little crag consisting of several walls spread out over an area surrounding a small car repair shop and the house where the owner lives. The rock is generally of good quality, and most lines are vertical.

access issues

Make sure to be mindful about the people living on the property by the crag. Do not be loud, do not leave any trace, and do not cross the property except on the marked footpath.

approach

Drive eastwards out of Tønsberg, in the direction of Tolvsrød. Just out of the city limits take a right towards Husvik. If you use Google Maps or GPS, input the address "Jarlsøveien 14" to get you to the car repair shop where you can park. Please park on spots further away from the house/shop so as to not disturb their business or privacy unnecessarily. From the parking, walk on the left (north-northeastern) side of the property on a footpath to get to the crag. Follow the path towards the left to get to Hovedveggen, or follow the path across the lawn, through the gate in the fence and to the right (south) to get to Grusveggen and Arneveggen.

In Stavern, follow Johan Olsens Gate to Liaveien. Park on the side of the road (where it is allowed) in Liaveien just before a barrier/gate. From Liaveien (close to Liaveien 7) there is a small, steep path up the cliff, going right and then left up to the base of the crag.

The cliff is right over a neighborhood, so please keep noise to a minimum.

A great crag with the majority of the routes on a slightly overhanging wall that is about 15-20 meters tall. The rock has many unique features. Trees in front of the crag cut 2019.

Parking is in a marked parking spot right after you turn onto the private gravel road that goes to the farm. Remember to pay the parking fee (currently NOK 20 in cash) in the marked mailbox in the parking lot. Can also pay by Vipps to the mobile number shown on the sign.
