Good chimney route, just brave through the wetness

Yay, it was finally dry enough for me to give it a try! Lovely route, great addition to the crag and quite beginner friendly as well (feels like the hardest moves are lower down then gets more moderate). Along with Valhalla, this is probably one of the nicest one for people to start on.

Piss wet through at the bottom, but miraculously dry after heavy rain once above 2.5m. Sorting out LRS system issue.

Great fun even when wet.

Lead to put up ropes and draws for a couple of beginners. Seems to get better each time I climb it (likely due to bits falling off 😂).

Shame about the seepage.

Right side was muddy so didn't use the surfaces.

Soaking wet after heavy rain.

Warm up frolics in the slime.

This ascent was pure filth. Literally. Fun though

Ironically for a clean ascent, I came away utterly filthy from runoff and grime accrued over the last few months of CB. Needs a bloody good wash but hilarious nonetheless due to three months off climbing creating amusing degrees of ineptitude.

LRS then brought up Rafe as a second/dead weight. Apparently it’s a stiff 7c+ when you are only 4 years old.

Popped up to put chains on the anchors (316 10mm 60kn WLL w/ 10mm 316 maillons, also 60kn).

LRS warmup. Soggy. A bit more starting hold has come off, ironically making it easier again.

Testing out the Kong Back-Up for LRS.

Some of the lower holds have come off, making the start a shade harder than before. Still a laugh.

IMO one of the most fun routes at DF and a good climb for LRS (on account of I placed the bolts myself so I know their provenance).

Lead rope solo on cloves and a static rope for extra spice.

Standard 5c.

Got to climb this really delicately as there are loose rocks on this route on the top and pretty dusty up there as well. Seems like a site from a fresh rock fall from not too long ago.

Advised to test the holds before putting weight on it.

Anchor is a two standalone bolts with a quick link attached to each. Est 50cm apart. Use extenders if setting up for top-rope.

Cleared a small boulder of rock on a shelf - route is slightly dusty but good!
