description

The climbing Mecca of the southeast. A well-manicured nature park on top of a mountain overlooking a lake. There are around 200 top rope climbs plus plenty of trad and bouldering.

access issues

There is a narrow paved road leading to the park. All amenities include handicap access. Some of the climbing areas can be accessed with a wheelchair. The park is open around the clock throughout the year. A self-pay box for late arrivals is located at the entrance.

Most climbing areas are located a convenient distance from the park facilities.

where to stay

There are over 100 centrally located primitive campsites at Cherokee Rock Village. Daily admission is $6 per vehicle. Camping is $15 per night per vehicle. Firewood, climbing gear and other essentials are available at the camp store. A heated bath house, outdoor sink, and vending machine are located near the pavilion. Picnic tables, grills, and steel fire rings are installed throughout the park.
