Nice moves, probably 22 as per the guide when compared to a few of the other 23s here

The down grade is personal due to the fact it seems most people and myself stay right of the bolts for most of the climb. It feels pretty contrived otherwise. The old bolts need replacing.

2 laps, the effect of being sick for the past 2 weeks showed by the second lap

Start pretty thin but ok. Top easy.

Third go, had to figure the crux reach. Crack gloves both hands helped and taped right index finger for brutal finger lock

Two laps to set up a rope swing and take it down.

End of day lap placing draws.

Better today with the cooler temps and the wall in shade.

Easier than a bischoff flinders 23! Had a go last year, clearly done more crimping this year and got it 3rd go today once I sorted a sequence.

It’s ok, though I was berating the equipper for the ground fall run out to the last bolt, but realised I had missed the second last bolt on the way down. Sorry.

Should have led it, I read it well except for a hidden footer below a draw. Much easier for me than some of the height dependent routes eg in flagrante.

Did everything but the short person crux. Was in good form when I last did this,

Pitch 1 only, though it felt 23 enough. Wimped out before 3rd bolt first go, but getting to pinned flake was also very techy to get the reach. second bolt below feet trying to get tips on break. I also climbed more to the left of the bolts a lot of the time so I could move between breaks. But best climb of the day.

Had placed draws on way down from KCS but hadn’t inspected moves. Some good crimping

Used the preplaced gear, though the red cam in the hand jam is probably better placed after getting to ledge. Most gear straight forward but the two crux bits feel fiddly.

Nice to get this off the list, coming back a second day with the beta fresh was worth it. Having the crux wire placed was good for the mind, the rest of the gear is quite straightforward.

Quite a nice climb

Nice juggy fun and probably a grade easier if tall

Did as suggested in guide and started at first bolt rather than create a mega cairn.

Fifth go overall, a less humid day helped so I reverted to the tiny crimps into a hand jam throw as I could not reach the holds around the arete whatever I tried at the crux.

Very bouldery no chalk hint start. Felt harder than the others.

Fun enough

Some cool sequences. The bolts are a bit spaced but I didn’t really notice it.

Dedogging mission continues. Great route, marred on my first lap by not reading the guide book and falling off after last bolt going left, which is what happened 15 years ago. Pretty freezing, couldn’t work the rests because just got colder in the wind.

Well that was a surprise. Two goes today, first go finally worked out short persons way to do crux, then dave dislodged the key hold on his attempt. Still hadn’t got through the low bulge clean. Second go I dynoed the low bulge then somehow kept going and found myself through crux without a lot of recollection of the top, but I had identified two good resting stances so gunned for them. Shame it’s going to rain for the rest of our time in Tasmania, didn’t think I had a lead shot in me today.

A boulder problem that’s pretty good, and had me super spreadeagled. But the other 23 pitches at Fingal are much better. We just worked it from the ledge where it takes off from the 19.

Second go, it’s short, but lots of good moves

Came off same place as onsight attempt last year- chugging along and suddenly pumped

Turning a roof without a double rack to weigh you down feels easy. This felt pretty soft.

May suit the short, pretty cruisy, I just didn’t like the rock

Pitch 1 only. Was definitely holding onto Bits of rock that don’t get much use. Was hard at Rooflet. Pretty nice slab.

Could get high on R arete at crux but was so spreadeagled I couldn’t move. Ended up just climbing face with a very heinous heel hook mantle which may feel scary on lead.

The step left was a bit daunting

Couple of enhanced holds it seems, pretty goey crimping without great feet off ledge, especially my first attempt when my belayer mistakenly mistook a power grunt dead point for a sign I was falling

Have seconded GITM before. Start better than I remember, some good moves between nice rests. Did as one long pitch

2 laps. Hadn’t been in a harness for 13 days. Unheard of!

Second go. My commitment levels were low instead time around getting to second bolt.

Pretty pumped compared to top roping it, even without having to fiddle too much with gear.

Another good crunch route, short but fun

Improving the style on the top pitches to at least a pink point. Every pitch extremely excellent climbing

Pretty tricky delicate slabbing, would feel impossible if spoogy. A bit of brushing helped a lot.

Tried leading but stumped at third bolt. Despite trying every permutation, including as pictured in the guidebook I could not get the reach to the key hold. Every other move done, though often with twice as many moves as Dave needed, including a technical start for the short! Great name.

Not a huge fan, mainly because of the bolt placements and the rope trajectory

Nice steep thugging. Feels 22 after figuring out where the holds are, but took a shot to work out.

Doesn’t add much, and doesn’t feel much harder than the 18

Tr first pitch, then alt lead with Dave, nice route, gets shade earlier than main face which was nice on a hot February day

Have to do double the moves at the start cf Dave, but it’s still easier than the 24 to the left. The rest didn’t feel much harder than the 24 either, but not sure I trust the bolts. A rebolt would be good.

FFA. My recollection is it’s a little easier than the route to the R, so I will give it a 22. Fun route.
