I never log ascents. Just wanted to add the block in the MIDDLE of pitch 2 looks like its getting closer to being a flight risk. Not the previously discussed belay ledge block.

Cruisy fun pitch

2 15 30m Trad

Almost had the onsight and at the crux grabbed a cam. Rest of it was challenging but not nearly as bad as the the crux move. Bring big gear

3 13 30m Trad lead by Jason Nguyen

Bit of faff removing some gear so had grab a draw. Broke a hand hold and almost got stuck in the chimney so had to go around.

Repeat with Robin and Caitlyn but a total Alzheimers onsight, including going the wrong way on P1; future reference, just stay on the right side.

P2 was easier than I remembered with no off-widthing required.

P3 start was still hard as shit and I didn’t remember the chimney being that tight but I still had an absolute blast of a time. So good!!

Definitely sections of “do not fall” on P1 and P3.

A really nice climb

A few notes

The first third of pitch one, up the slab has very little pro. There are no bolts or carrots at the top of this pitch. There is some gear in the wall at the top of the block (belay piont) but you will have to look for it.

Do not underestimate the off-width on pitch 2. We only used one bolt plate and that was on pitch 2. Having a #5 or #6 cam is handy for this pitch. But probably not essential. There is a DBB at the top of pitch 2.

The first move off the blay station for pitch 3 is very difficult compared to the rest of this climb. Pitch 3 is a chimney. If you climb inside the chimney you will only fit if you are thin/small and will not fit with a backpack on. If you step to the outside of the chimney there is more space but less gear. Choose your own adventure. There is a DBB at the top of pitch 3.

This climb gets sun early... like 10am

Really good route nice jugging for P1 just sandbagged myself by making a right angle in the gear near the top, belayed from carrots off to the left. P2 has one hard layback section and might be a grade or so harder, Justin realised the left his phone at the base of the climb while having a snack at the bealy for P3. P3 was a nice boulder to start, again probably sandbagged for 13 but fine either way clipping an old piton on the way to the chimney, the chimney was super cool i just wish i had been carrying less gear, ended up only placing a 5 a nut and another small cam near the top. A 6 would have been nice on P2

Kind of like a baby wafer thin fin. We climbed the front face of the leaning pinnacle. Quite happy Tim ended up getting the odd numbered pitches, as this would have been a rank, runout lead. The next two were good enough to make up for it though

2 15 30m Trad lead by Luke Yerbury

Felt a bit out of my depth on even such a short off-width section. Bumping the 6 meant I pretty much got to do it on top rope though, so that's nice. Top of the crack was great!

What an absolutely amazing day out!! Opted to not do the direct start as it looked horrifying. The other start was fun up until the void of death. I saw Evan's foot just make it and thought it can't be too bad. Evan and I cracked ourselves laughing as we tried to figure out how I'd get across. My best solution was just to jump and go swinging. I started down climbing to let go and then realised I could just get my foot across. Fun. The second pitch I lead and got to the offwidth section and had a battle with it but it won. My blood is there for the proof. Evan seconded and ended up avoiding offwidthing by reaching to an OK hold out left. I was outraged he'd avoided the fun I'd had with it! Rest of pitch was fun! Last pitch was an absolute blast up the chimney and overall a fantastic day out!! You definitely go for the adventure. Beware it's chossy, run out and has limited pro but that's the fun of it! Will definitely do again such a fun day!

Now this is what we came to narrow neck for. We started the day off with a cruisy run up cave climb and had a blast. Rapped back down our fixed line and had lunch under a shady boulder while we waited for our other party to finish. We conducted a "wife swap" of seconders as Yim likes to call it then Jack and Johnny started up the regular start of Fuddy Duddy. Jack intially enjoyed the beginning of the route then cursed the rest of it and recommended we check out the direct start and save ourselves some dodgy climbing. At this point we had no idea what we were in for. Yim tied in for the direct start and on the very first move his eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas "BOOOTYYYYY! MY FIRST BOOTY I AM SO HAPPY!" As he pulled a #9 dmm nut out from the boulder on the ground. A stellar start to the route, less can be said about the rest. Yim consistently cursed the route being full of spiders and choss, "The most disgusting route i've ever climbed" then he was faced with the dilemma of either the chimney or a sketchy uncertain face climb, so the chimney it was. Towards the top of the chimney Yim turned to loving the pitch, the joy of successfully soloing an unprotected chimney. Until this point probably took about 20 mins, then after another 10 minutes and noticing the middle marker of an 80m rope passing on a 30m pitch I had to tell out and see what was going on. Yim had decided to nail down and link the first two pitches like an absolute machine and I had to follow. Backpack on the pitch 1 chimney was absolutely fucked and did not spark joy. No protection, choss sandstone galore, holds breaking everywhere and my backpack between my legs being caught on everything. The sun decided to peer through and absolutely beam me as I struggled my way up reaching onto anything above me, blinded by the light. I made it through to the view of Yim manically laughing from the top of pitch 2. Choice words were exchanged towards the pitch and towards Yim for finding a sick joy in the climbing. Pitch 2 was an absolute off width battle. Knees were barred, chickens were winged, the crux move at the carrot certainly a struggle for grade 15. Somehow during the crux battle my chalkbag dislodged itself and fell into the abyss. Upon reaching the top of P2, exchanging more choice words, breathing for the first time in 30 mins, we saw another party coming up behind us. Tom and Jay, two more unlucky souls who had succumbed to the direct start. Saved my chalkbag though, absolute heroes. Pitch 3 had a clear grade 18 boulder problem start. Some crucial permanent tick marks stop you from hitting the deck but definitely weren't expected on a "grade 13" pitch. The chimney climbing here was surprisingly pleasant and flowy?? No protection yet again, but if you traverse towards the face half way up leads to a significantly better time than squeezing through the narrow part, pick your poison I guess. The top out was glorious. We meandered back to the car with the sun shining in our eyes asking if the warm beers had manifested themselves into coldies, to an unknown voice exclaiming that they had. The fellas had made friends with Kiki, a lovely girl that was doing a lap of Oz and was taking warm beers in exchange for coldies in there fridge, an absolute life saver. Tom and Jay met us at the car and we had an absolute yarn for the next hour over further beers. An absolutely perfect day out on incredibly unique climbing with bonus friends at the end, couldn't ask for much more.

Todays installment was a day out at narrowneck to climb the bumblers. Cave climb first on the menu. Will forgot to leave the big gear for j and y so i had to lower him halfway down the climb to re-place it all. Had a undies shower in the trickling waterfall; i wish theyd turn the pressure up on that thing. Some difficulties finding the start of fuddmania but ended up shooting for the carrot. Told will and yim the first pitch was shit and maybe they should go direct start. They ended up taking over 2 hours longer than us to complete the climb with some large solos. My hands were too sweaty to fist stack the offwidth on p2 but werent too sweaty to grasp a fistful of dyneema. Johnny and i hung out at the car for a bit before a girl named kiki drove past in her truck asking for camping advice on the area. She ended up doubling back despite my lack of help and gave us freezing beers and chatted to us until the boys came back. 2 other lads followed them out the top of the chimney and joined us for a bev for sunset. Kiki seemed interested in climbing and was encouraged by the vibe of post climb beers but yims 20m run out chimney recount quickly eroded her enthusiasm for it. She was also potentially not 100% convinced we were real climbers after 50% of us (yim and i) almost came off the boulder problem that was mounting wills car roof with racks on. Hardly a V6.

We did the direct start and I wouldn’t recommend it. It was loose as and I pulled off a few blocks and broke a foothold or two. The rest of the climb was rad. Start of the third pitch is definitely at the hard end of 13

A very nice climb, but beware. The first pitch is loose and runout, with a terrifyingly loose car sized block on top of the fin. The second pitch needs some off width skills and the top is powerful for the grade. May be best to be very solid at the grade for this one.

Heaps of fun. Took the direct (left) P1 which has plenty of gear although not amazing rock. P2 took some tries to find the offwidth sequence, I liked have a #5 and 6, though you could skip one or the other if you trust the carrot. After all the hype I expected the P3 squeeze section to be longer, but then again it was probably the longest metre of climbing in my life

Narrow neck is a wasteland after bushfires, but at least it meant that we didn't get lost on the approach. For future reference, the 'Cave Climb' rap anchors are at (-33.732197, 150.282879).

P1: We weren't sure how to start this, so Ollie started in the back behind the smaller block, then went up past the carrot on the wall. Despite it being a nice sunny day, I got cold standing around in this cave while Ollie tried in vein to protect the unprotectable run-outs. When I finally started climbing the first chockstone I pulled on in the gap between the blocks came straight out... oops

I followed Ollie's line which involved an airy step from the wall to the big block, with some added faffing to protect against a potential pendulum. Top of P1 has fixed hangers & one very rusty biner.

P2: Was psyched to try some offwidth technique, but this ground to a halt at the crux (carrot a few metres up offwidth). The crack was too narrow to heel-toe, too wide for fist stacks, and certainly didn't let me switch hips easily while wearing a double-rack, #6 and a backpack.

..but I did get a good knee-lock in. Too good in fact, because I got stuck after using it to move up to the slopey holds on the left. Put the #6 to good use here and rested on the rope while I got my leg out. With my leg out I threw in a hands-stack and stepped up to the good jugs on the left, woohoo.

Got to another wide but easy section above, and decided I wanted the #6 back. Alas, I was only able to over-cam it some more, and had to put up with the run out. The bolts on the ledge were inconvenient to top-belay from, so I made a redirect more directly above the crack with 2x#.75 (a #1 would have been better though).

P3: moves at the start were rad; it definitely still goes on good crimps with some footwork and tech, but more like 18 than 13. Climbing the chimney was unpleasant: the strong winds blew all the lichen and dirt straight up. Wearing the backpack, I got "squeezed out" of the chimney and had to move to the opening when it narrowed (fortunately could still clean the gear inside).

Gear: double rack + #6 (a #5 would be better) - missing #1

What a sandbag. Nearly the best climb ive done in the boueys to date though. Goad there was a bolt on the second pitch as i down climbed 5times trying offwidth beta. Bad news on the boulder problem on start of pitch three, my second reckons he ripped off a crucial hold (the pocket at the lip) and had to jug the first moves.

Such a good way to finish up a trip in the blueys. Very rewarding climb.

Also best access via ladders, added some fun to the outing.

Absolute must do! Really cool positions, exposure and a very interesting chimney pitch to finish it all off. Probably my favourite multipitch to date. The climbing is very stiff for the grade,in particular the boulder problem at the start of the 3rd pitch which is probably V2 with risk of a ledge fall. Definitely recommend youbring a no 5 or 6 cam, I only had 4s and so there was a big runout on the offwidth pitch.

Lovely adventurous experience. Worthy of the tick list.

A carrot on the off width at the start of pitch 2 means a #5 isnt really necessary atm. Pitch 3 has u bolt anchors. Pitch 2 has an offset anchor, not sure what its for, maybe belaying for the next pitch or an escape plan? It wasnt useful for top belaying pitch 2.

Harry's mega effort on this mega climb carrying mega cams (#5, #6) 'for the fun of it of course'.

Some mega runouts on P1 (not so bad actually). Piece of advice from our mega sensei for this pitch was "whenever you find a placement put mega two pieces in".

P2: Mega corner, mega stemming, mega crux, mega movement, mega views, one loose mega block (don't pull on it unless your belayer is a mega pain in the A).

P3: Mega pull up first move to set the seen for the mega chimney (you can use a mega stick to stick clip the mega piton if you are in mega luck of finding that mega stick), followed by mega tight chimney, mega grunts from leaders and followers and then topout to some mega achievement in your list of how much you like mega adventure climbing.

If you wanna know the mega story of the mega helmet that took a mega flight, keep wondering.

we went off route for this. instead of climbing the giant pillar we went up on the face to the right of it. this led to a very run out pitch of about 35m. we came to a ledge with two old bash in carrots. and after scoping out the corner past the arete, we chose to bail as it looked like we needed quite big gear which we didn't have. probably a BD 5 or 6. first time backing off a route so was a good lesson to learn, will definitely come back. the rest of the climb looks epic!

Cool climb. A bit pumpy. 1st pitch:there's a lot of bushes so got dirt in the eyes. There's an off width section. I kinda of chimney that. 2nd pitch: I found it fairly pumpy and reachy. 3rd pitch: beginning of 3rd, the anchors are on the far left of the ledge. Bit of a bouldering start. Have to pull up. Start of the chimney is narrow so it will take sometime to wiggle through but it widens out and it's fine after that.

Pitch 1: Cool big block at the top.

Pitch 2: Contains an offwidth section. I have zero offwidth skills so opted to stem most of it.

Pitch 3: Very stiff first move (bouldery). Doing this pitch with only head torch light made it even more challenging.

Chimney finish (*Warning: super tight and I'm very skinny! My helmet got stuck).

led first and third pitches - my climbing shoes were left at the top and i can testify that it is an exciting route in school shoes - led mostly on nuts which was rad (including belays) - skipped legal studies to do this climb which my legal studies teacher ironically recommended to me!

Wow! The third pitch is just spectacular. Be warned, the first move is quite hard if you aren't 6ft and in possession of grasshopper legs. First pitch is only memorable for the runouts as you climb over recently broken holds. A fantastic knee jam will get you through the crux on the second pitch. Big gear is unnecessary, there is a bolt to protect the second pitch, and there is surprisingly good gear in the chimney. An incredible morning out (even if it was in 40 degree heat).
