Crag Stewards

Rock climbers please contact the Crag Steward (bradyslookout@climbersclubtas.org.au) if you have any queries or concerns regarding social or environmental impacts of rock climbing at this crag.

Do not email regarding general travel, seasonal advice, or lost property - this is not the Steward’s role. If you have important safety information to communicate (e.g. risks due to recent and large rock falls) please also consider updates on thesarvo forum, Facebook group and/or online guidebooks as appropriate. Please copy in cct@climbersclubtas.org.au if you feel you have a high-level concern which may imminently impact the crag or climbing community.

Non-climbers, other users, land managers: please also contact cct@climbersclubtas.org.au if you have important climbing related queries at this location.

Other

• The operation and use of drones by park visitors on reserved land including national parks is not permitted

• Peregrine Falcons nest from July - December each year. It’s important that climbers don’t climb near active nests during this period. Known sites (non exhaustive) are: Sand River (Far East, The Panopticon), Bare Rock (R of the Boneyard, L of Bisso of Orange), Rocky Cape, Pubic Wall/Duck Reach, Hillwood, Gunners Quoin, Lowdina.

• Please note that Tasmania has notoriously patchy phone reception for particular service providers. Telstra is the most reliable. An emergency Personal Locator Beacon or similar is recommended kit when climbing in remote locations.

Left hand on the arete at a little higher than head height, right hand on the crimp far right at a fairly wide span. Slap your way up the arete on the left and tricky big moves up right will see you mantle right over the nose of the boulder.

FA: Jordan Grant, Jan 2021

Crouch/Sit start as low as possible on the slopers on the left arete. Move up and right via big moves and top out just right of the highest point of the boulder.

FA: Jordan Grant, Jan 2021

The lower start to Pound of Flesh V7. Stand start with LH in rippled sloper and RH on triangle crimp/pinch, Big RH move to decent edge and then slap your way into Pound of Flesh start holds. Definitely room still for a sit start, very small holds. Low percentage and compression resistant, a classic of the crag.

FA: Jordan Grant, 13 Aug 2022

The low start to quarter pounder - project.

The green tinged deep, dank project under the Pound of Flesh boulder. Sit start with foot on huge ledge and hands on double underclings. Follow a line of holds all facing the same direction to a cramped top-out. Slippery when wet.

Stand start the diamond shaped slab to the left of 'Pound of Flesh.' Funky, techy stand start on lowest chalked holds on the tip of the diamond. Climb trending left along good crimps to a jug, then up to the lip.

FA: Kris Penn, 23 Aug 2022

Sit or hang start low on the left arete, follow the arete and gain the slab for a high top out
