Access: Fallen Trees

Be prepared for an adventurous approach as a the forest got hit by heavy winds recently and there are a lot of fallen trees in the area.

The trail from Habichen is fully blocked and you have to take a forest detour to get to the climbing area.

Description

Boulder field hidden in the forest on the side of the Ötztaler Ache riverbed. Features wide variety of climbing terrain on a perfect granite.

Approach

Although the area carries the name of the nearby village Tumpen. Do not approach the crag from this side. The owner of the land in Tumpen does not allow access and have closed the only access path from the village to the area. Park down hill in the village of Habichen (Habicher See Parkplatz) and follow the river up hill.

Ethic

Do not disturb the wild life and climb with lighting after the sunset. Local hunter community is not happy about it.
