Description

The most popular climbing crag in the Hochrhein area is located just outside of Albbruck. The crag features climbing in solid gneiss across the grade range. Bolting is mostly excellent due to the development efforts of the "DAV Hochrhein". Some parts of the crack are shaded by trees, others get direct sunlight. Be aware that due to the location of the crag in a valley below the plateau, the rock dries rather slowly after rain and tends to be wet in early spring when the snow in the black forest is melting.

Due to its popularity it tends to get quite crowded at the weekends.

Approach

Park only in the designated areas. There is a small parking area located right at the crack. Turn from the B34 towards the city center of Albbruck and continue through the town till you reach a roundabout. There take the 2nd exit towards Albtal/Göhrwihl. The parking area is located on the left 100m after you exit the town. No overnight camping allowed here.

Alternatively, you can take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and park at the large parking lot. Just walk the few meters to the crag from there. Recommended at the weekends.
