Frygani is a large limestone and conglomerate vertical wall, similar to the legendary Meteora cliffs but, in fact, the rock is significantly more solid and with features in abundance (pockets, holes, and flakes). Another important difference: the bolting in Frygani is much denser!
Frygani is just 2km from Kefalari, a traditional and non-touristic village in mountainous Corinthia. It is located on the eastern foot of Mount Ziria, the second tallest mountain of Peloponnese. From Athens, follow the National Road to Corinth and Patras. Take the exit to Kiato and continue for 23 km towards Stymphalia. After passing the junction for the villages of Klimenti and Kaisari, you will see the field to the right of the road. Park on the side road to the right and follow the small path for 3 minutes.
A collaborative project with the participation of the local stakeholders. Less than 10km away you will find Lake Stymphalia, the largest mountain lake of the Peloponnese, mostly known for Hercules’ 6th labor, the Stymphalian Birds! The Environment Museum of Stymphalia is a must-visit as it displays the interdependence of mankind and Nature by providing information on the region’s environment, human activity, and traditional professions. Less than 30 minutes away you can visit Nemea, the biggest wine-producing region in Greece with huge historical & mythological importance (Hercules 1st labor; slay of the Nemean Lion). Here you can visit nearby wineries to taste some of the country’s greatest wines, as well as the Archeological Museum of Nemea the Temple of Zeus, and the Nemean Games Stadium.
