Routes in New Zealand for selected grade

The route has become overgrown, hard to find.

At the left hand end of the wall by the cave entrance is a large flake that juts out to the left. Climb up and behind this flake, heading right and up the natural staircase past the trees to the top.

Sit-start on the big jug.

Start at the lowest point of the chimney and climb easy ground into the chimney proper. Up the chimney to easy ledges, then the rib above.

The rib directly behind 'The Shield' wall P1: Ascend the rib to the pine tree. P2: From the tree climb the rib right to bushier but easier ground. Descend the gully on the left. May need to be rediscovered and cleaned. This description needs updating.

The steep wall over-looking the gully between the Shield and Prelude provides a most delightful moderate route, Find the single jug at the foot of the wall and follow good holds to the top, finishing near the top of Back of Beyond. May need to be rediscovered and cleaned. This description needs updating.

The rib at the top of the gully between the Shield and Prelude. It is difficult to arrange a good belay at the top. May need to be rediscovered and cleaned. This description needs updating.

The right hand side of the face with the sandy base. V0 for the sit start else VB.

Easy, short and generously bolted.

A low angle slab with the crux getting onto the slab, and no protection until near the top.

Access via abseiling off the tree directly below All Aussie Adventures. Follows the right leaning crack before exiting left.

This climb has been swallowed up by the bush.

A great first lead. Climb right of the tree and left of the bolts.

Uses the same bolts as "Tree start", climb on the easier right hand side of the bolts.

Up left arete.

Easy chimney at the break between two blocks. Finish on the left arete.

Wide chimney on the end of the block.

Groove with good stemming on the end of the block. Just right of '19. VM+'
