A small crag on Mt Kaukau, with a few short routes on ok rock

Description

Trad climbing with the occasional bolt. You'd be better off top roping or highballing most routes

Almost always windy, but especially in a westerly or southerly.

Access issues inherited from Mount Kaukau

The approach is very overgrown with gorse bushes

Approach

go up to the top of Mt Kaukau, then turn left at the radio tower, go down the track, then turn right and follow the yellow-tipped waratars.

climb the left side of the face following a vague seam.

Climb the obvious groove/crack. Wide gear or fiddly gear, your choice

Climb the face right of the arete (don't use the arete though) in small edges. Classic face climbing, though protection is non-existent.

Go up the slab then commit to the overlap, which is protected by a bolt.
