Description

these three monoliths stand tall over the ocean. Among the three, the smallest has the most solid rock. the medium sized rock, on the far right, has only one four-pitch route that is graded 5.10b. According to the locals, the old natives of Ulleung-do used to scale the monoliths without climbing equipment.

Approach

the monoliths are located across the seawall from Janggun-bawi.

Descent notes

Gear 12 draws, a 60m rope, and a full set of cams ranging from #3 to #0.4 to climb on these colossal columns. Safety Due to the ever-changing sea-weathered cliffs, a helmet is recommended.
