Routes in Martigny region for selected grade

Nice climbing, very well bolted. Belays are always two bolts. Late start (~3pm in the summer) for shadow in the upper parts of the route is recommended.

1. In the shadow with tree cover. Belay in the sun.

2. Keep right along the bolts.

3. First up along a crag and then turn to the left with one slightly difficult (balance) move which can be aided with multiple bolts close by.

4. First part of the pillar. Some exposure but never fully exposed. Using 2-3 alpine draws is recommended for less rope drag but not strictly necessary. Nice belay.

5. Some slightly overhanging moves. Rest is moving along the pillar on the non-exposed side.

6. Very short connecting pitch over some bigger rocks. More like hiking at times. Use at least 2 alpine draws. Big, flat belay.

7. Up from the previous belay, go right (at the red bolt) heading to the right of the tree trunk. Next part involves some climbing over and under the big branches. Rest ist very flat terrain up to the belay.

Descent: From the last belay, go 5m up and then the small path to the right. This path leads to a slightly bigger path which goes to the normal hiking path. Pretty steep and loose ground but not exposed. Difficult with snow or when wet.

One 50m cord is enough, all anchors except the top anchor are two bolts connected by a chain. Directly to the left of Pipe au vent.
