Ascents in Idwal Slabs and Walls

Got lost, fell and got injured badly. Instead of veering left, kept going straight up. Had to abandon.

really really close to have a fall in the crux and have a bad fall while leading, my heart stopped for a couple of seconds

Very scared at the crux, which really isn’t helpful. Good nuts and palpable relief, felt like I can run up the rest without placing anything. Got a little carried away, didn’t realize how irresponsible rope soloing is.

Epic route.

Completed the middle section of Idwal Staircase after starting on the Idwal Buttress and then descended on the Idwal Descent (Seniors Direct) without first section.

Climbed lower section and then finished on the middle section of the Idwal Staircase before descending on the Idwal Descent (Seniors Direct) without first section.

surprisingly there are no crack climbing moves in the whole route!

a very good climb with some tricky sections. the first pitch can be very wet along with some sectors further up. still worth doing

finished the upper part of this route clean o/s after bailing off piton blsde to its right due to the cinditions. Arrived on this just in time for the upper offwidth crack great combo climb!

bailled left onto piton route (vs) as the upper crux of the crack was slimy as hell!great route would like to return when sunny!

In Wales for the weekend to climb Flying Buttress and Idwal Slab. 2 of us Multipitch taking it in turns to Lead & Second, Climbing on through. Cold but Bright, opted for the easier route as it was cold in the wind.
