Summary

Highly seasonally-variable bouldering on a beautiful beach.

Description

A good cluster of greywacke boulders at the Southern end of Stinson Beach. The bouldering experience here can be highly variable, depending on tide and especially sand level - with high sand it offers cruisy problems with great landings, while during times of low sand it can offer slimy water polished starts into super highball problems, some of them over rocks. The 'Northern Boulder' and 'Are You Experienced Boulder' are the only two that are reliable outside of low tide (though may still be wave washed at high tide), while the 'Low Tide Boulder' is often only climbable for an hour or so during low tide (and if the swell is up or the sand low, perhaps not even then).

Approach

Park as far south in the Stinson Beach parking lot as possible, then walk south on the beach or a trail just behind the beach to the (obvious) boulders.
