Ascents of Watchtower Crack as Flash

Mega classic line. This was a long time in the making for me. Led every pitch (ran 1 & 2 together) as a party of 3 with Jeff and Brett. First pitch was very runout making it quite serious. Pitch 2 was a bit burly. 3rd pitch crux was a wild squeeze/slab/stem thing. 4th pitch is the money pitch. Smeary laybacking through the crux. Very glad to have a #5 and #6, total game changer. Bumped the 6 are few times which made me feel a lot braver!

Incredible route, and a super fun experience removing gear. Can’t imagine leading something like this on trad any time soon.

But spooky, started raining mid Crux and I lowkey freaked out. But all was well and have a banger sesh.

Epic climb

Very nice climbing, a few committing moves but the holds are all there, including ones for my shoulder jam. A couple of bolt hangers and some large cams will definitely make you feel better!

Worth the long wait. Led all pitches, and linked pitch one and two - I stayed on the right for pitch two though traversed to the left crack to place a nut at one point as I didn't trust the loose blocks. Pitch three was glorious, and committing coming off the jugs of Skink. Pitch four I found surprisingly burly considering how it looked, had to work really hard to hold it together. Beyond stoked on this one. Had two 5's and a 6, and would recommend at least one of each for a good time.

Super solid climbing at the grade with each pitch having a slightly different feel. Some spectacular moves through the mini roof at the start of pitch 4! Really stoked to get this ticked off the list.

Awesome fun climbing! I did pitch 1 and 3. You need at least 2 bolt plates for pitch 3. Nicola and I knocked it off pretty quickly. Arapiles ice cream for me!

not reall an onsight seen many people on it, but that still didn't matter. on the crux pitch 3rd, it's the closet i came to crying on lead. lead all pitches clean though!
