Ascents as Red point or Ground up red point as trad by Vanessa Wills

Ouch, rather sharp. These climbs were west facing but fortunately an overcast day. So nice not to be in a plus 20 dew point for a change!

My left hand strayed towards the HS holds down low, as the right heel, lay off sloper to side pull felt more 25 for my height, and still tough up top. Not sure where the wires go, would be shallow placements in a flake I think- would be better with extra bolt and a second anchor bolt

My right shoulder just can’t handle V grooves any more. Had to change sequence at start. Rest of it was fine.

Unexpected foot slip on first attempt. Came down and then went up. Nice movement

Led P2 which was the crux. Missed a footer first time up. P3 has no real off width moves and was steep fun. The description and topo doesn’t make clear the down climb needed to get onto P3

For a short climb this is full on. Gave it a good brush.

Chicken wings

Fond but sad memories from my previous ascent of this with Nick. Did it today from Blackmans camp with Dave and Jonty. The rocks average but the experience is great.

Rpt. Soloed first time, led on gear this time, lots of small cams in horizontals

Rpt first pitch which is not too bad and worth doing but suggest abseil off tree. The loose blocks on P2 are still there and it was an unpleasant experience. P 3 ok. Going don’t bother because it’s a potentially dangerous route at present

If I knew this was my second last day climbing for 6 weeks I would have gone somewhere else. Awful spoogy conditions in the howling on shore

FFA. An acquired taste, I thought the climbing was quite good despite the dirt, and enjoyed the horizontal chimney exit.

FFA. Great slab moves, through a Rooflet, a slab Dyno and then a nice finger crack.

FFA. Dave and I had quite different beta, esp for the top. Reachy but possible.

One for offwidth connoisseurs. Slippery as.

FFA. A bit thrutchy but not too bad.

FFA. Good crack followed by unlikely finish on interesting pockets

Having seconded this a long time ago cleanly, I didn’t give it proper respect and botched the hand sequence on the Alzheimers OS attempt. Then got rained on twice,though fortunately the lower part of the route stayed mostly dry

I am pretty sure I belayed the FA of this a decade ago and declined to do it due to skin and reach. I was obviously more sensible back then. Everything today felt quite spoogy. This took a few more goes than it should have for the first 4 metres. I just kept sliding off the hold at the end of the crux next to the wire placement. It’s really a direct start to Psalm 69

Kind of a dark pink point, took a single rack to #5 after dave left some gear in especially to protect start.Hard start, but nice varied climbing

Been on both halves before, a fantastic route.

I love old school gradesfrom 1969 with no cams! tried to reach the jug too early on the offwidth section. Pretty nice climb.

FFA. Unless someone else wants to claim it, spotted this line last year, it took way too much skin and climbing days (3) but finally got the 3 sequences linked(success rate after figuring out the moves 70% first, 20% second, 30% third). Not that keen on having an accident on Flinders, so led it with 3 bits of gear- red C3, small wire, purple C3 and one more red C3 to top out.

Not as good as the original, the traverse right to join BB is best done quickly on a low spooge day

FFA. Definitely a nicer way to get high up in this area than the HR or the LR with minimal gully exposure.

FFA. Grade from the exit traverse, though good moves from the start. The linking traverse done low is kinder IMO having done them both, as the gear post traverse feels better. But the upper line is good too.

FFA. Team FFA, amazing what a bit less humidity can do. Interesting to compare our sequences which were quite different, especially on the left traverse. Worth the long walk from killiecrankie instead of Docks forachange

FFA. For technical crack lovers. I wanted to call it the Lube Tube, it was particularly slippery in the morning, but a sunset send by Dave in better but much hotter conditions was done. #4 very useful for the tricky tube bit.

FFA. I just wanted to get above the wall of the gully, but this climb was great, gear just kept coming, with some airy technical moves on the arete

FFA. If it wasn't for the start it would be classic, still damn good, amazing rock, and solid lead by Dave

FFA. Had spied this after our rope got stuck in a crack earlier and I had to jumar up. A really nice link up, with a tricky traverse made interesting by the buttress namesake making an appearance. Double ropes needed, but well protected.

FFA. Seconded Dave, nice climbing, shame about the 50 mm rain event that meant it was a bit damp in parts

FFA. Great exposure, and nice varied climbing. Hard to give a reliable opinion after the work involved putting it up, and walking in to do this and Dave’s route as a day trip. Again, the cracks were a bit damp in parts after a 50 mm rain event. Shady in the morning, gets some afternoon sun. Would go at 19A0.
