La Aldea Cuevas
7a+ Paranoias mediavales - with monkeygrip Sport Classic
A well deserved 7a+. Quite challenging overhang start with Gaston on crimps followed by pressing right hand on a sloper while lifting the left foot. The second half section became easier (6c). Needs about 15 QuickDraws.

6b ~6b+ Anitaerredé - with monkeygrip Sport Good
Nice route with a slightly challenging overhang beginning. The styles are quite varied. I unfortunately had an accidental fall because the new route still had a lot unstable parts. A big chunk of rock almost hit on my belayers. Wearing helmets is a must for both climbing partners. And belayer should watch out.

6b+ ~6b El rincón del valiente - with monkeygrip Sport Very Good
Very nice long route. I personally felt it was easier than 6b+ by comparing to other routes in the crag. The start might seem a bit challenging without using the ladders of via ferrata. But with all the good holds, it was not so challenging. That said, this might change if the holds become polished with more frequency. Some pigeons and their poop on the top section. 15 QuickDraws might be necessary.

7a Hard Biiiiii - with jorge ortega Sport Mega Classic
Recommended and guided by a local climbing legend Jorge from Oceanus Climbing. Mega interesting long route, about 25m, that won’t bore you in any minute.

The left side of the first part was flakey but the right part is generally safe. But Jorge spent some good amounts of time to fix the route after our climbing by knocking down those loose holds and coating those solid holds with epoxy resins for protection. Muchas gracias 🙏

7a El cenicero - with monkeygrip Sport Very Good
I finalement sent this route during today’s climbing session. I used the beta that I described during my first top rope attempt. That is, stay largely on the rock face where all the bolts are; at the point of 2/3 of the route, climb on the left side for 1,5 quickdraw distance, then a hairy traverse to the right.

6a/a+ ~6b La Primerísima Sport 11m Very Good
Definitely more challenging than a 6a.

6a Black Friday Sport 13m Classic
Short and sweet.

6a/a+ Hard Esencia callejera Sport 14m, 6 Classic
A nice 6a+ if you go up directly without moving to the left or the right. The top part is the +.

6a+ La tortuguita Sport 13m, 7 Good
I see one part on the top usually makes people struggle because of a dynamic projection. But it’s not an issue for me as I’m 186cm. I could easily reach my hand to the hold on the top without the need of projection.

5+ La danza del diedro Sport 12m, 7 Average
Okay route for warm up.

6a ~5c+ Carbón dulce Sport 14m Good
Nice and easy.

6b ~6c La vieja escuela Sport 10m Good
This route to me is a 6c due to its delicacy.

6b Patacabra Sport
The last part was quite a powerful one. But my heel hook with the right foot worked.

Due to the position of the belay station, the rope is likely to rub on the rock during descent. Care when lowering is recommended. Alternatively, one can rappel down to avoid rope rock friction.

7a+ Machocha Sport Good
I climbed this mysterious route at the end of my session after I already climbed 8 routes. It’s a short but powerful one and features a big overhung. One part in the middle has only a couple of small grimpes and the top was a sloper (at least I didn’t find any good hold). I would give it a 7a+.

6c+ 7 Machos Sport Mega Classic
Relatively easy until overpassing an overhung. Some foot ledges are quite thin, of which the part I think is the crux.

6a Fontesilla Sport Very Good
5b ~5b+ Denenes Sport Good
I add a + because the holds are getting quite polished. But there’s no worries if one places feet correctly.

6a ~5c+ La Taibaba Sport Good
Some holds are a bit polished. But except the very last part, the route feels like a V+.

5c ~6a Eskakeo Sport Classic
Difficulty is pretty much the same as Guitarilla if one climbs up as straight as possible.

6a Guitarrilla Sport Classic
Holds are nice to grip.

6b ~6a+ Scary Route Sport
If one climbing more or less straight up by following the bolts, then it qualifies a 6b, especially the second part. But you can also get around the difficult parts by going more to the left. That said, even if you follow the bolts, nothing is physical. The holds are just in the right distances.

6a+ Cenizas por donde pisas Sport Very Good
Really nicely paced route. If you observe well the holds, especially for the feet, nothing would be physical on the way.

6b+ El pastún Sport Mega Classic
It was recommended by a local climber. Indeed very classic. I got stuck at one part, which I believe was the crux. Thankfully my belayer noticed a small foot hold that I didn’t see from the top, which was the key.

6a+ ~6b Dejame que lo Intente Sport Mega Classic
I like it very much. But the holds were not that easy to spot at the beginning for on sight. For that reason, I suggest 6b for this route.

6b+ ~6b 5 Machos Sport Mega Classic
I really enjoyed the flow. Really nice.

6b ~6a+ Tachum Sport Classic
Nice route. But felt slightly easier than 6b.

6a+ Pico l'aguea, ompio escape Sport Very Good
Very interesting especially the last part. The rain and mud made it a bit scary. But quite fun.

5c ~5c+ 80 Presas, 2 Bidones Sport Very Good
It felt a bit challenging for a 5c, especially at the top. But it was probably because I was climbing in the rain with a lot of muds.

5c Por un Toto Sport Very Good
Nice route

6a+ ~6b Guanil Sport Very Good
Very interesting route. A bit more challenging when climbing in the rain.

4 ~4+ La princesita Sport 15m Crap
Not sure how to grade this route. Challenging enough if you climb with hiking boots because the holds are small in general. My greener friend could top it but really in a physical way. If you want to get up in a more elegant way, it would be a 5.

5b ~6b Tamarán Sport 14m, 5 Crap
Not sure why so many thought this was a 5b route. Not many good holds, one has to traverse to the left to get to the belay station for the 6a route. I got a feeling that several original holds flaked off, probably from overuses.

6b ~6b+ Doramas Sport 5 Average
6a is just deceiving. When I found the route from the Climbo’s topo, I thought it would be for a warmup. I felt confused and regretted that I started from the left as the first belt was so high and I could hardly find a good hold. I had to take a a break after took such a risk to get to the first belt. Whoever set up the route must wanted to dissuade people from climbing here. Sorry, won’t work for me. I’m quite determined to continue climbing here.

6b ~6c Sumake De Sito Sport 5 Average
The big distances between the belts made me feel unsafe. The last part felt awful. Some of the big holes might look like good holds but actually slippery and filled with poop. Just discussing. 🤮

Okay route. A bit difficult to determine the belay station.

Route is a bit confusing. Not sure it’s 6a judging by my beta.

Nice one with an overhung start which deserves a +

An interesting route with decent length and a lot of variations in movements. 5b

6b El atún del norte Sport 14m Good
Very nice route. The big overhung beginning was a bit scary. I decided to clip the first quickdraw by climbing up from its right side first and then restarted with the overhung. There are a lot of unstable stones. Climbers below should be careful and make sure to wear helmets.

6a ~6a+ Polvito uruguayo Sport Good
The beginning of the route deserves a +.

5c - 6a ~6+ Pompeya Sport Good
There’s one part was quite a overhung. I’d give the route 6a+ instead of 5+ compared with the 6a route on the right.

6b ~6b+ El siguiente nivel Sport Good
Overall a nice interesting route. Quite demanding for strength especially in one part. That’s why I added a + to the difficulty.

4 ~4+ Me enamoré de tus movimientos (Leticia) Sport Good
Nice route for warmups.
