Well I did detour briefly into shakes as straight up seems contrived and pretty dangerous, and the other way goes into racers edge and is even more dangerous. Still felt enough to be 23, and very pleasant outing

Beautiful climbing on great rock and interesting sculpted holds. Hands on top to finish. Buzzed by a curious eagle. Maybe soft, as still recovering from flu.

Actually liked this. Technical crux, stop whinging people, it is all there. Try a heel toe, flag combo for feet and a matchbox type hold you layoff/ undercling. Apparently flashed this a decade ago, but I don't remember climbing on this wall

Good rock for this part of the wall, and a strong line. Best to avoid the semi hanging belay and do it as a long pitch

A decade I did this I think, but have no recollection. Went up putting draws on so I could put some long slings on NIB. A super nice route.

Lovely climbing. If I didn’t have a toothache today and was enjoying myself more, I may have given it classic

FFA. Countdown to surgery begins with a sneaky midweek project tick before the rain. The start looks straightforward but seemed really awkward but sequences at 3rd and 4th bolts are great and not obvious.

Finally, good friction today and no pesky tall people making me doubt my sequence

Second go today, have tried it one shot many years ago. I must have learnt a few tricks since, I think I found the big move out of reach before, but just could get the height today.

Second go, after a scary onsight attempt due to spaced bolts. Hard moves at second bolt especially if lacking a big wingspan. Placed a very long sling on the fifth bolt.

Trench warfare. Dave did this much easier by putting his back to the water which didn't work for me. I faced the water and did some extreme bridging and thrutching. And sorted it out by about the 15th attempt, and probably won't be able to walk tomorrow.

FFA. The start went readily enough on crimps, but the rest of the climb kept me on my toes for a chalk less onsight. Really nice rock on the whole, for Kaputar, and some good face climbing

Felt easier than the 19 and 20s....

On the last go of the day after changing sequence each time. Nice and technical and trickier than appearances

Took about 30 goes to stick the bouldery start sequence. I figure if it was down the hill it would get v4. Yes there was a snake off to the left near the top. Needed a lot of brushing to be able to hold the slopes.

FFA. The rocks a bit coarse, but some really good technical moves

One very reachy move mid climb, had me going up and down through the scoops before committing

Rpt. Need a long draw on second bolt as can't reach off good feet to clip, and you are on the ground otherwise

I quite enjoyed the different styles of climbing. Fairly easy at 21

Only the second time I have done it since the pebble in the dish broke. I think it's gone up a grade for me

I could tell Dave how to do it but couldn't engage the roof statically. A high step press worked

The start was the hardest thing I did all day, had seen someone on the start but it didn't help me due to height differences

Maybe I am just tired, but this line seems confused about its intent and doesn't climb well.

Fortunately had been done recently so was clean enough

Rpt, nice staying on the bolts, mcdougalling would be chossy

It was a bit wet,and cold and breezy, but quite a fun romp, the rock deteriorates up the top. Good bolts. Second go.

Would easily get 25 in the blueys. I would need to put in a lot of very long slings to make this feel safe, so I think happy with top rope. Definitely not 23 at my height.

Climbs essentially the same as the crack, it should be further right and go up the groove and it might be ok

This was even dirtier, wasted a lot of effort going right of the bolts with some very funky moves, but couldn’t see how to get through a blank section. Tried going left, probably the way, but a very long move for me

Not having the best day. Maybe work waking me at 3am and not being able to sleep again? Came off at first bulge. Rock quality improves after first 8 m. Bolted finger crack.

Do yourself and belayer a favour and aid the choss at the start to enjoy this route as the climbing is good above. Quite spicy bolting, interesting fin feature
