Ascents in Eastern Suburbs as Flash

Beautiful climb. Truly epic with large swells and high winds to build the atmosphere.

IMPORTANT

While I was belaying my partner up the final pitch, sitting on the edge of the cliff, I believe one of the locals called the police as they feared that I was a suicide risk. This resulted in the police arriving and fining both me and my partner for 'crossing a national park boundary'. Not sure if the fine will eventuate or not, and I intend to dispute it if it seems legally feasible, but it's worth putting in the record that fines have been received at this location.

Worthwhile for the final roof and headwall. Typical awkward undercut start to an easy featured ramble. Chossy second roof (Matt pulled a rockmelon sized chunk off) to a sandy break. Final roof climbs superbly; great little crux on good rock. Overall it's very restful and would be soft 22; definitely not 23.

wet and sandy. maybe better on a less overcast day. but i'm not getting my hopes up. and the sand will remain.

Great start followed enjoyable movement to the top. Again, feels soft for the grade (22) like all the routes we did. Wish the rock at the start went on forever.

A bit stop-start, but the 2 x hard sequences are actually quite challenging and fun. The ledge in the middle is disconcerting when pulling the upper crux.

The initial stemming corner is great, and the upper moves are okay. The entire middle section is sandy, oozy, eroding pox, and I wouldn't recommend this route to anyone.

Surprisingly good. Climbs much better than it looks, and not as blank as you think. Other than the first move, the rock is great, and not overly sandy at all. The start and finish must surely be nails if you're short? Even for me, the final punchy moves are exciting.

The bottom part is not bolted so we traversed after topping out on the climb on the right and started from the ledge. From there it is only a climb of two moves and one bolt plus the anchors but very delicate and precise ones.

There is another bolt lower at the hip level that is not clear to me the utility of it.

Friday arvo adventures. All the sand and surf you could want!

Brendan took a couple of jugs home as souvenirs and had some airtime…so the bolts are good! Give the second pitch to someone who's solid at the grade. Take a brush or three.

The name says it all - Super fun moves from bottom to top. Each stage of this 40m adventure is diverse and challengeing, with each rewarding move well worth the occasional hand full of sand. Highly Recommended!

One of the more consistent routes that we did. Okay undercut start to a fun finish, just shame there's a halfway ledge. Soft at the grade.

Very average climbing the whole way. There's nothing WRONG with the climbing, it's just very ho-hum on coarse rock, and quite ledgy. There are a few redeeming sequences amongst the "meh". I'm ambivalent to this climb.

Fun in hindsight but Sandy like a beach!

Excellent route, would get 3 stars if it was less sandy and grimey (expected given the location though). Great view and exposure, with some interesting moves.

Verbal beta from my friends for the P3 crux was actively unhelpful (hand jam? what hand jam?). Learned the lesson that sometimes I should just do what feels right instead of overthinking it.

For me I actually think the first mantle was the real crux. Beached whale count on this ascent: two.
