V3 Swamp Thing Boulder 5m Beulah Classic Thu 15th Apr 2010
Great route, has a bit of everything.

V6 Vulcanology Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sun 29th Aug 2010
Good fun, squeeze those heels, and crimp like crazy!

V5 Evan Stone Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sat 16th Jul 2011
Great problem with a bit of height. Finicky start, beautiful laybacks, followed by a committing but juggy top-out

V3 The crack Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sun 17th May 2009
Too hard to pass this attractive chunk of granite. Sun exposed + juicy arete + high top-out = excellent way to warm the fingers up for a day out at Gara

V4 Quickdraw Low Traverse Boulder 2m Upper Gara Gorge Good Tue 17th Aug 2010
Hard, interesting traverse, perhaps ran a little smoother before some 'Galah' ripped off a bomber hold.

V2 Quickdraw traverse Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Good Mon 17th May 2010
V0 Quickdraw direct Boulder 1m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
Great moves, if only it continued up. But it is what it is.

V4 Quickdraw roof Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sat 17th Jul 2010
Sketchy drop to the 'little tooth of death', but it only motivates you to finish. Sequency, crimpy, heel hooking, smearing, and a mantle to boot - Its all here

V4 Hard arete Boulder 5m Upper Gara Gorge Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
V1 Mantel as Anything Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
V2 Right of Tree Boulder 5m Upper Gara Gorge Sat 17th Sep 2011
V2 Tree Crack Boulder 5m Upper Gara Gorge Sat 17th Sep 2011

V4 Mozzie Rock Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
V3 Dynosoar Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
Short route, strong but dynamic first move, juicy there on in

V3 The jaws of death Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sat 17th Sep 2011
If you want mantle and hand foot match practice then this one's for you. Oh, and take a pad.

V4 Spider Monkey Boulder Beulah Very Good Fri 6th Apr 2012
Yes the flake will hold you (unless crowbarred off). Really cool route, bit of heel action too. Nice find Alan.

V6 Power Monkey SDS Boulder Beulah Very Good Mon 16th Apr 2012
Reachy. Privileged to climb it pre-flake removal. Another sweet route on the power boulder. Will try the sit start next year.

V3 Socially just fucker Boulder 8m Beulah Very Good Fri 6th Apr 2012
Really cool low traverse, a little sequency before a rest on the vertical line. Delicate finish.

V3 Rhys's crack Boulder 3m Beulah Very Good Fri 6th Apr 2012
It wants to be climbed but until you get you feet in the right place it wont happen. Once sequence is unlocked its a route to run up and enjoy.

V4 Razor Light Boulder 2m Beulah Good Sun 18th Mar 2012
Sharp, no back jamming, just one massive cruxy reach for your left hand (unless you do what Carol does and heel hook like spider lady)

V6 Vulcanology Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sun 22nd Apr 2012
Awesome sequence on the rail, good stuff up top, linking the two isn't pretty but damn fun - Doin the worm!

V2 Light up my chimney Boulder 10m Beulah Very Good Sun 8th Apr 2012
And a close second ascent please. Only did it so Brendan would stop giving me slack for forgetting his esky.....A neat climb. Might want to take some mats into the cave for crossing the void. Climbing shoes are also a recommendation.

V6 V6/7 Bus driver traverse Boulder 7m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sat 19th May 2012
Worked all the moves for a bit and then went on a sending train with Nathan and Alan. A bit of everything, slopers, crimps, jugs, crystals, heels and palms, not to mention a classic crotch thrutch compression (oldie but a goodie). Oh and watch your dab. Do chalk bags count?

V3 Bus Driver Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sat 19th May 2012
Great open hand sloper (no wonder Todd loves it), but sharp and crimpy right hands. Very nice!

V8 V6 Trepanation (NE17) - with Alen, Carol, Nath, George, Amy and Ili Boulder 5m Stonehenge Classic Sun 1st Jul 2012
Sweet problem with great moves and a high ball to boot. Awesome pulling of tiny crimps in order to head right into the void where you soon realise all the holds are gone.....hold in there, breathe deep and go high.

V5 V4 Cliffhanger (NE22) - with Carol, Alen, Nath, George, Cam Boulder 5m Stonehenge Classic Sun 1st Jul 2012
Sharp right moves, reachy left side-pull, pocket and crimps. Cut sick on the lip, there's plenty of good stuff to finish.

V2 S1 - The Mushroom (S1) - with Al, Nath, George, Darcy and Carol Boulder Stonehenge Very Good Sun 1st Jul 2012
Interesting little rock with some fun features on the nose. Great open hand slopers - no wonder Todd loves it.

V6 Candy for Jeff - with Alan and Nath Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Classic Sat 21st Jul 2012
Great route sent with the aid of some glorious wintery friction. avoid the finger shredding crystal cluster high and left and go straight for the juicy crimp just above them.

V6 More Candy - with Alan and Nath Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Classic Sat 21st Jul 2012
V6 New Beginning - with Alan, Nath, Tim, April, Ili, and Amy Boulder 4m Mt Yarrowyck Very Good Sat 21st Jul 2012
Cool problem, even cooler once April decided to send it on her way past.

V4 Mozzie Rock - with George, Tim, April, Daph and Carol Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Wed 15th Aug 2012
V4 Hard arete - with April, George, Darcy, Carol, Daph and Tim Boulder 5m Upper Gara Gorge Good Wed 15th Aug 2012

V4 Lost world - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 2m Mt Yarrowyck Very Good Wed 15th Aug 2012
Funky left foot roll and weight is essential. Desperate high throw to the right sloper.

V2 Layback - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Average Sun 29th Jul 2012
Very chossy didn't have time to clean and search for good holds but they are there.

V2 Pocket fest - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 4m Mt Yarrowyck Very Good Sun 29th Jul 2012
Great warm-up sweet features

V0 Traverse - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Average Sun 29th Jul 2012
V3 Sharpest mono in the world - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 4m Mt Yarrowyck Sun 29th Jul 2012
Good fun. Must at least touch the 'sharpest Mono in the world' on the way through even if you don't weight it - and you wouldn't want to.

V6 Mergatroyd - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Classic Sun 29th Jul 2012
Great climb. A little compressiony, sequency, and a good excuse to use your heels.

V3 Whitegoods with a view - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 5m Mt Yarrowyck Very Good Sun 29th Jul 2012
Sketchy fall (if you were to fall to the right), take a bunch of pads and go for it. The right arete is better than you think, and jug at the top is very rewarding. Doesn't finish there though.

V0 Thunderbolt crack - with Skip, Alan, Thor and Denni Boulder 4m Mt Yarrowyck Good Sun 29th Jul 2012
Good hand and foot jam practice.

V5 Two face - with Skip, Alan and Amy Boulder 6m Upper Gara Gorge Very Good Sun 2nd Sep 2012
Very cool and very high, pad-up for this one. Jug on the rail (complete with garden) is juicy, here you can afford a rest and shake out before throwing your left foot on the rail, searching out the high left crimp and even higher juicy right pocket.

V4 V3 Face Jump Start - with Skip, Alan and Amy Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sun 2nd Sep 2012
Finally hung around at the lip long enough to send it. A really slow thought out mantle was all it took. Not much at the top but slopers have plenty of friction. Good pad placement is essential.

V8 Body Darma - with Al Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sat 26th Jul 2014
Another crack. Got the chip again (I wonder how long that chip will last) and then didn't know what to do with it....Must put some effort into taping fingers, BD isn't getting any less sharp!

V4 V2 Carls Dream - with Match, Deon Heemskerk, Julie Boulder Mt Yarrowyck Good Sun 17th May 2015
A very techy number for the grade (Which I thought was more like 3 or 4). Balancy, reachy, poor feet and small crimps. Maybe I was missing something.....

V4 Gordo's Block - with Match, Deon Heemskerk, Julie Boulder 3m Mt Yarrowyck Very Good Sun 17th May 2015
Forgot the beta bro. I should have looked at the knee bar Skip uses in the guide (trust him to use a knee bar).

V3 The starfish - with Match, Deon Heemskerk, Julie Boulder 4m Mt Yarrowyck Good Sun 17th May 2015
A nice low-ball traverse. Mitch and I happily caught each other dabbing before the send. That's what good spotters do

A fun shouldery low traverse.

V3 Ain't Nobody Got Time for Dat - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 5m Cathedral Rock National Park Very Good Sat 17th Oct 2015
Very cool. Love the pinch to the jug crux move.

V1 The Green Sheep - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 5m Cathedral Rock National Park Very Good Sat 17th Oct 2015
A hearty high-ball warm-up. All the holds are there, just about keeping the head together.

V2 Gee's problem - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 3m Cathedral Rock National Park Very Good Sat 17th Oct 2015
A really cool SS problem with a gaston/layback.

V4 Aza's Mantle - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 3m Cathedral Rock National Park Good Sat 17th Oct 2015
Good to get this compressiony number after a couple of goes. Oh, and sharp in places!

VB Ben in Boots the second - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 2m Upper Gara Gorge Average Sat 31st Oct 2015
About the only thing we could muster that day, in boots and without pads. A very low-ball.

V7 The West Face - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood, Phil Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Classic Sat 16th Jan 2016
This just looked a bit silly at first. Okay holds to a point and then nothingness beyond. After a few flailing attempts Dr. Phil uncovered a new footer which I found to be quite useful. After plenty of psych I followed Al on the send train, but only just - the difference between sticking the finish and not was a couple of mm's of my middle finger pad. Good times!

V3 Hock it - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood, Phil Boulder 1m Upper Gara Gorge Good Sat 16th Jan 2016
A fun problem and a not-so-good hammy warmer

V0 Rail - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Good Sat 16th Jan 2016
Fun. Wants to go higher.

V4 A cult following - with Alan Ezzy, Brendan Heywood Boulder 3m Upper Gara Gorge Sat 16th Jan 2016
What are you like, Skip? Quality, erm... good, but perhaps unnecessary? Basically look at all the holds you'd like to use and then only use some of them. At least 30 more combinations awaiting a F.A up this very wall

V3 Al, Ben & Phil's Excellent Slabby Adventure - with Alan Ezzy, Phil Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Good Sat 16th Jan 2016
The SS is all in the knobble. Getting established on the slab requires some crystal faith and delicate foot transitioning.

V0 L.A.S Elevator - with Alan Ezzy, Phil Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Average Sat 16th Jan 2016
There was a crack there so we climbed it. The SS adds something....

V0 L.A.S Staircase - with Alan Ezzy, Phil Boulder 4m Upper Gara Gorge Average Sat 16th Jan 2016
A two move wonder

Nice 'friendly' highball

Unknown 2 - with Brendan Heywood Boulder 5m Beulah Very Good Fri 25th Mar 2016
Tricky. Needs more winter. Had fun working this into the dark with Skip.. Would've been there longer if we'd found headlamps

Always a pleasure. And a heart starter.

V3 Swamp Thing - with Iliane Beuke, Deon Heemskerk, Tiarni, Brendan Heywood, Alan Ezzy, Stephen Hawkshaw Boulder 5m Beulah Mega Classic Fri 25th Mar 2016
Doesn't add much to the climb, but a fine variant and an excuse to climb it again.

V3 Brush in Mouth Disease - with Brendan Heywood Boulder 4m Beulah Very Good Fri 25th Mar 2016
V3? Pffft, yeah maybe for a gecko. Quality route, and very slopey.

V3 Rhys's crack - with Brendan Heywood Boulder 3m Beulah Classic Fri 25th Mar 2016

Followed Skip up after some beta.

V3 Knee bar problem - with Brendan Heywood Boulder Beulah Good Fri 25th Mar 2016
Super sharp, shouldn't have come off the last hold on the first attempt.
