Ascents in Queensland as Onsight

Maybe 28? I've done the start so many times previously but onsighted the second half. What would you claim this?

We only did the first 2 pitches. I onsighted the second pitch as part of my climbing instructor's exam. (with Rachael Watts and Glenn Sharrock) A friend of mine had a 50m fall on this pitch in the 70's!!!

This happened! I did slip on the first two moves on the getgo attempt and fell to the ground from a meter up, then got up it OS! So I guess strictly not an OS, but hadn't seen anybody do it, had no beta, and had never touched the holds before... Then when I finished it, I was thinking, even though it had tricky sections, no way 27... Then Igor tried it, and confirms 25-27 bracket, so checked various websites and after cleaning it, it seemed like this may be my forte... EDIT: Log for Acid VF, 26

Just the 22 part as a warmup route - maybe later for the 27!!

Such a sweet line. I feel cheap saying how all these routes are awesome, but they really are. Kneebars. So many kneebars. Oh, and a lifesaver fistjam up high! Had to dig pretty dig for this. First 27 onsight!

What a gnarly rock-over!

Sadly contrived, and unfortunately unnatural. It’s pretty obvious after cleaning the holes out from the block. 3 perfectly round holes with cone bottoms within a meter of each other but somehow nowhere else on the wall. Probably sendable without them as well. Manufacturing holds is unacceptable let’s leave something futuristic for the next generation. I also think v5 is a better grade it’s not that hard.

My first 26 onsight! The crux is about 5m off the deck but the whole route is really solid at the grade and the biggest gear is about 3 or 4 rock. I got up to the crux and fiddled the RP in then misread the move and my foot slipped but i managed to hang onto a one finger undercling somehow and very shakily downclimbed all the way to the ground without weighting the rope, took my shoes off and untied for 10 minutes and calmed myself down. Then I sucked it up and went for it again. Had a big fight and only just got it by the skin of my teeth.

I don't think i've ever been more pumped topping out on a climb...ever. Such a good fight

Very nice almost face climbing. Easy to read compared to most other things here.

Sick! Punching through the boulder was a fight ... you need to work it to get anything out of those feet! Had a chat with Kurt beforehands about onsighting. He said that you needed a mixture of discerning calculation, and firm commitment. Great advice, and it came off. One of the best pitches Ive done in the Glasshouse ... although its a shame about the prolific ticking in the upper section.

Climbed it a little messy with trouble finding the sequence in between the 3rd and 4th draw but overall amazing climb

Apparently this has been freed by Andy Freeman, going right where the crack fits.

Dogged through the first 2 bolts (HARD!), but the tight finger crack is stellar. Went left at the top, which provides a little more climbing than the right variant. Protects super well

Didn't know I was doing an extension - missed the first anchor. Not sure why it's there to be honest.
