Also so rad ! Tempting to just give it "classic" status but we can't do that on every route ! Similar to airbag on the right but the slabby section is a bit funkier as your traverse, I personally think the finale is better as airbag is pretty soft. This felt more like the grade, the last moves are rad and it feels very safe. Keen to just go straight back!

Kind of a retro flash. Was last on this 3 years ago(?) and was a nemesis route, in fact I injured a pulley on it. Climbed in and out of the crux a few times before going for it. Definitely not a push over 22. Climbed as 9th pitch of the day after doing mileage at Fawty. Climbed with Josh.

Finally redpointed this. Did a session with Simon, a session with J and then thought today I'd just bang my head against the wall and the same multiple hangs like last time. But it went first go, actually felt very controlled and almost easy. Didn't feel pumped at all. Awesome! New Tenayas did the trick! Wooohooo!

This was one of the first routes to catch my eye as a novice, wanted to try it ever since spotting it. The arete is just so obvious, begging to be sent. Only about 4 clips are sustained before it softens up, so it's a stretch to call it "classic" - but those four clips are just SO rad. The bottom is power moves and then the crux is balancy with ridiculous little holds. Well bolted so really fun to project. A great intro to 22s and above.

Dang it is tough to rate this route! Per meter and per move you have a hell of a lot of fun and it's one of the best routes out there. It's just not long enough to be called "epic". There is a crux that has all the hallmarks of a classic crux - a section that catches your eye from the ground, one that draws the climber inevitably into it, a section with distinct holds that requires unlocking exactly the right sequence, just to make it through by the skin of your teeth! So I am quite torn on the rating of this one! Either way super stoked on my send and it's probably in my top 20 routes atm. Will have a video to add at some point. One downside for me is that the start is a bit confusing, there are 3 ways to do it. Beta warning : If you deadpoint/hop to the first jug you can skip a hard move and I think the route then becomes 21. If you start super low (matched on the big edge) the first move is much harder. Between these there is the intermediate option to start with hand jam for the left hand, which I did. Averaging across these I feel that 22 is the correct grade although it's on the softer side, again, especially if you hack the start, which is easier if tall. The grade must also be taken into consideration with the fact that the rest of the crag is a little sandbagged by today's standards. Video: https://youtu.be/i1MrvsXEyL8
