Qaasuitsup (Greenlandic: [qaːsui̯tsup̚] Place of Polar Darkness) is a municipality in Greenland, operational from 1 January 2009. As of January 2013 its population is 17,498. The administrative centre of the municipality is in Ilulissat (formerly called Jakobshavn).

Qaarsorsuaq Island (old spelling: Qaerssorsuaq) is an uninhabited island in Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland. At 124.7 km2 (48.1 sq mi), it is one of the largest islands in the 'Upernavik Archipelago', located in its southern part. Sandersons Hope is a 1,042 m (3,419 ft) mountain in Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland, located in the western part of Qaarsorsuaq Island in the Upernavik Archipelago. It was named by John Davis in 1587. Source Wikipedia
