Aegean Islands Kalymnos Palionisos
Secret Garden

Shade all day and a lot of great groutes from 7a upwards. Warm-ups and three-star 6c's are getting polished to an unpleasant degree.

The garden that was secret is now famous as the place to be for shady afternoon climbing with a typical, beautiful seaside setting. Not unusual to see more than 50 people here during peak season.

Although this sector has mainly been established between 2010 and 2013, some popular routes, especially the few ones easier than 7a, are already pretty polished.

Aegean Islands Kalymnos Palionisos
Palionisos Red Wall

From Masouri, drive towards Emporios. Drive through Skalia village and turn right up at the junction onto the steep uphill road to Palionisos (37.04138, 26.94815). Pass the col (about 250 m MSL) and drive down the serpentines.

After the 5th and last hairpin turn on your way down, you reach a gravel path to the left, opposite of a small antenna building. Park at the left side of the road, the same parking area as for 'Secret Garden' and 'The Beach' (37.05144, 26.95741).

Walk down the gravel path down to the small clearing. Find a trail marked by cairns that traverses rightwards along the hillside. Continue for about 10 minutes.
