Was a long day and freezing cold, but beautiful view and wildflowers. Way harder to find out way off the mountain than we had anticipated- thought it would be as simple as finding and following a path like the crag description says but it wasn’t, unfortunately 😅 we got out in the end, after following the path that leads upward from the tree clearing, which was not intuitive to us. Now we know the way, I think it would be simple. Probably good to have the hike downloaded on ur phone if not going w someone who’s done the hike/climb before. Good day out, but a long one for sure- esp fighting the rope drag.

Enjoyable day out. Think I went off route on pitch 8 up a vegetated corner, not sure if the climb goes more to the left perhaps? Thanks to a helpful party being at the next belay, we were able to find it ok. Also glad to have lugged a large cam up just for a placement in the last pitch

Parked at Lower portals carpark. Bush bashed straight up to the Thums. Scrambled the first one then dropped down and skirted around the second one with a large amount of vine time. Before scrambling up and around the third thum. Taking in a beautiful and imposing view of isolated peak we kept pushing then up eagles with some vertical gardening. Summited at about 5pm. Before descending via peasants arrived back at the car at lower portals around 9:30. Started at 8am. Mega day out..

I chose to do the Devil's Deliverance option- first half of Devil's Dihedral up to the small stance at the bush, then step right into the corner of Deliverance and continue from there. So although not the original line, it's a much more enjoyable and 3 star option! Awesome gear all the way and an exciting finish. We cleaned out the pin scars in the lower section of the original on the way down, unearthing a large army of ants and muck. Pretty happy to have avoided all that.

Aid is fucking hard. The potential for the first confirmed A5 route was always in the back of our minds with manky carrots and weird homemade bolt plates littering the route(???) I think I may have doomed us by saying “those aren’t rain clouds, are they?” on the drive in. They were. Approach was okay, but god damn the descent down the tourist track was spicy. One handed bum sliding down wet rock while the other hand was holding my phone flashlight. (Why tf would I need to pack a head torch, we’re only starting at midday). Seemed like we both found our rhythms in the final third of our jumaring/leading - so I guess next time (?) will be a bit smoother. Highlight was throwing for a hook move (???!!?). Hit a radical black streak of slimy sludge with zero friction and realised only way up was to pull out the old sky hook. Realising that there was no chance it’d hold on the slime, I had to stand on a slippery wet carrot and throw out max span right to get a jug to hook on. Couldn’t weight it sideways so had to basically jump right to weight it. Talk about engaging. Definitely type 2 fun. Might do again. Maybe.

Late start, benighted, and rained on. Unprepared gumbies learn how to aid climb on old carrots. Pros of long BRs? They're super easy to clean because you can slide the plate off while the draw is still attached! Managed with 7 bolt plates and ~25 draws without needing to lower to back clean. Couple of easy skyhook moves get the heart rate up. Rained the whole walk off, 1/2 head torches, unavoidable victory slide at the base of the mountain, KFC.

Good day out to repeat this one. Very windy day. Got a light spattering of rain, nothing bail worthy. Finished up atop the caves route chimney, and hiked the rest of the way to the summit. Came down the tourist route, but this was more effort than it was worth. Sticking to the descending via Caves route in future.

Laid siege to this rig for a solid few hours, armed with only 7 loose nuts in place of bolt plates. Will lead the first half before lowering to clean and send me up to lead the rest. Nothing gets the heart rate up like weighting a skyhook on sketchy KP rock with only 2 loose nuts on carrots keeping you from a 15m deck. Even found a huge black tote placement near the top. Pretty sure had about half of a lobe engaged but goes to show how bomb a black tote is. Had the whole of right main wall in awe at the faff, and even got a bashing threat at the top from some random derro. A+ experience.

I'd say the crux is around a v5/6 at harveys marbles so 26 seems right as it's so short, think a boulder grade would be more suited. Sharp rock on skin! Rad spot. Totally potential for a hard direct line out from the roof!

Decent climbing. First pitch was pretty straightforward for the grade, everything else was pretty casual scrambling. So good to get outdoors and top out Tibro. Was pretty hot, but cloud cover and a good wind kept things sane. We simul-climbed from the midway rap anchor of pitch 2 to the top. About an hour on the wall. Descended via caves route to cave 1 then rapped down Zeitgeist.
