Gyokudo Bijutsukan Area |
Hikage Boulder
Beautiful vertical boulder with perfect crimps. The climbing is awesome. Must-go boulder if you're not afraid of high boulder with bad landing. Can be pretty safe with enough pads and a good spotter. |
Gyokudo Bijutsukan Area Hikage Boulder |
V5/6
★★★ Mine no Yu
An amazing line that starts from the lowest left crimp and tops out the boulder. The last move to the top jug is easy but scary because of the bad landing with a large boulder in the center. But it can be well protected with 2/3 pads and a good spotter. The crux is in the first middle section of the problem. |
V4
★★★ New Soul
An easier version of Mine no Yu which starts from the right edge, climbs up and then traverses left to reach the top of the crux move of Mine no Yu. The climbing is amazing with great moves on perfect crimps. A little scary at the top as it is quite high but with enough pads and a good spotter it is relatively safe. |

From the station, cross the road and turn left to follow the narrow path that goes to the riverbed. This area has boulders on both sides of the river. To cross the river we have to climb up the narrow path and cross on the main bridge as the smaller one has been destroyed by the weather in 2019. Popular boulders are "Toketa Soft Cream" and "Australian Boulder". |
