Access issues

The routes at the roof section can be hard to find. The easiest way to navigate is to stand at the 'Entrance area' and go slowly towards the roof area while identifying each of the routes.

Ethic inherited from Seseko Beach

Sesoko Beach and Sesoko Island are special places and we need to make sure to respect the locals, and the environment we are in. Please do your best to minimize our impact on the beach and on any local residents. Additionally, to present climbers as good neighbours to have, we suggest bringing an extra trash bag to collect trash that washes up on the beach. Also if you can, patronize local restaurants, cafes, and stores. If the local community sees climbers as an asset, we will be more welcome to return.

Beaches in Okinawa are not private, however, private organizations like the Hilton Hotel maintain the beach and its associated parking lot. They cannot stop you from swimming, however as they want people only swimming inside their nets, we recommend you follow their requests. If you do swim outside their nets, please be discrete, so we aren’t seen as taking their tourists away.

This beach provides plenty of shade, soft white sand, crystal clear water and a wonderful view which makes this perfect for A fun day at the beach. The beach and parking area are open from 09:00 am to 17:00 pm.

Grade Route

Start from the furthest left jug and traverse along the top section of the boulder. Match the final jug near the plant to finish the climb.

This route is a modified version of the original A-line, to make it easier to understand the topo.

FA: Matthew Lewis

This route shares the same start as the A-line and climbs under it through a series of good holds. Make sure you engage your feet and use heel and toe hooks to keep your body tension. The crux is at the transition after a big Gastone where good toe-hook is key to making this move as easy as possible. You will finish the climb on the other side of the boulder climbing all the way to the biggest visible jug(hole).

FA: Alexander Serna, 12 Feb 2023

Start from the right side of the rock and go around the corner to end the climb at the same place as the A-line.

FA: Tim Larick

Start below the B-line at a low jug. Climb under all the way until you can connect with the B-line.

This route has been modified from its original FA to make a more streamlined experience at Sesoko bouldering.

FA: Xiaoying Li

An easy warm up, to let you feel the razor sharp rock of Sesoko bouldering.

FA: Bluemount

Start from the two pockets and climb to the left side of the roof. End the climb matching the jug.

I've merged the route Sea & Undersea line together as it was hard to differentiate.

FA: Xiaoying Li

FA: Tim Larick

Start at the same two pocket as the C-line and climb the right side of the wall, mantle up and climb the slab section until the giant jug next to the plant.

This route has been modified compared to the original Dear line to ensure a consistent climbing experience at Sesoko bouldering. The grade has also been adjusted to reflect the changes.

FA: Xiaoying Li

Horizontal walk on the roof. Do not use the horns on the edge to exit the roof. Instead, follow the roof crack and underclingly walk through it to finish the loop.

FA: Xiaoying Li

Start from the right side and meet with Looper before entering to the roof.

FA: Xiaoying Li

Established by a trusty shellback. Heel hook your way into the roof. And then head feet first out towards the ocean to cross the line with some toe hooks onto the front face to top it out. This route will turn your world upside down.

FA: Matthew Lewis

Traverse to the left while power screaming to top out on a horn.

FA: Tim Larick

Start deep in the roof with a separate hand start facing towards the cave. An even deeper sit-start is possible for does who want to extend the route further.

FA: Yuta
