Extending structured tags, or allowing #hashtags on areas / crags etc.?
I repeatedly find that the "rock type" tags are too limiting, but right now it's not possible to either extend the list of "official" rock type tags, or use a #hashtag at the area / crag etc. level.
Any thoughts on either allowing the structured tags to be extended in some controlled fashion (e.g. via some kind of controlled, collaborative proposal & approval process), and/or allowing #hashtags to be used at the crag / area / etc. level?
You can use #hashtags in areas, however I think you are suggesting we pull them out and present them differently.
We are currently working out whether to pull back on some of the structured tags. I have no problems using this forum to discuss further rock types or changes to structured tags.
You enter #anyhashtag into the description fields. It's possibly worthwhile considering using the structured fields as a mechanisim to enter general hash tags as well. I have logged this here:
