Ascents of lphigenia

Bee hive around the first Belay ledge makes things interesting. Keep right to avoid disturbing them.

Funky moves in a pretty nice position. Bee hive 3/4 of the way up pitch one was intimidating and VERY active. Ran it out to the right to avoid any interaction. (I’m sure they’re nice people but I’m not taking any chances)

This route is a real gem, topping out a delicate pillar that only comes into view at the bee infested belay at the end of pitch 1. Take lots of care when scrambling back down to the main cliff

Climbs well if you head right onto the face early - also helps avoid the bees nest. Great gear.

Thanks Jack for roping this slab lover into a day of overhang climbing. Iphigenia is incredibly goey and pumpy, with a few potential spots for nasty falls onto ledges. One excellent handjam move on it. In one spot where Jack went left through a harder section, I went right and had a much easier time lay-backing on a big block.

Second pitch was a blast! Be very careful getting off the back: you either need to jump across a chasm or we did an extra pitch crossing clymnestra's chasm and one more to get to the rap anchors of Agamemnon. A single sling protects the chasm well enough for the second

Record for longest time to build anchors

Careful downclimbing required getting off the pinnacle at the back, not great for beginners. Or belay your party down to the ledge/ left and not up to the pinnacle.

First Arapiles climb! Loved this climb. Some fun overhangs with great jugs, some nice easy chimney practice! Got super pumped trying to take out all the nuts.

Really nice climbing with some cool holds. Under rated in my opinion

Great varied line. Mucked up the crux first time... touch of rope burn to make me remember the lesson. String together as a single pitch.

One pitch. Thought it was at least two stars, it’s like Muldoon with the airy jugs but slightly more involved crux, nice if you can do a hand jam or two. Went straight up the last bulge but a bit to the right on the previous one.

Enjoyable, probably closest thing to an alpine experience at arapiles with the choss at the top. Good fun.
