Crag Stewards

Rock climbers please contact the Crag Steward (bradyslookout@climbersclubtas.org.au) if you have any queries or concerns regarding social or environmental impacts of rock climbing at this crag.

Do not email regarding general travel, seasonal advice, or lost property - this is not the Steward’s role. If you have important safety information to communicate (e.g. risks due to recent and large rock falls) please also consider updates on thesarvo forum, Facebook group and/or online guidebooks as appropriate. Please copy in cct@climbersclubtas.org.au if you feel you have a high-level concern which may imminently impact the crag or climbing community.

Non-climbers, other users, land managers: please also contact cct@climbersclubtas.org.au if you have important climbing related queries at this location.

Other

• The operation and use of drones by park visitors on reserved land including national parks is not permitted

• Peregrine Falcons nest from July - December each year. It’s important that climbers don’t climb near active nests during this period. Known sites (non exhaustive) are: Sand River (Far East, The Panopticon), Bare Rock (R of the Boneyard, L of Bisso of Orange), Rocky Cape, Pubic Wall/Duck Reach, Hillwood, Gunners Quoin, Lowdina.

• Please note that Tasmania has notoriously patchy phone reception for particular service providers. Telstra is the most reliable. An emergency Personal Locator Beacon or similar is recommended kit when climbing in remote locations.

Grade Route

Sit start with left hand on good side pull and right hand on low horn, head straight up to easier ground

FA: Kris Penn, Sep 2021

Start as for Smells Like Roses, but head right via slopey sidepulls to easier top

FA: Tommy Krauss, Sep 2021

Hang start on two good pinches, head straight up on good holds

FA: Kris Penn, Sep 2021

Start as for Chicken Salt, head right via big moves and slopey jugs to big finish right over arete

FA: Patrick Munnings, Sep 2021

PSA: Starting hold has broken since FA. Grade needs confirmation now.

Sit start with decent RH sloping pinch and LH poor pinch. Keep the tension up and in to the start holds of Salt in the Wound and continue to the top as for this problem.

Sit start with two opposing vertical holds, head left via big move and finish via arete

Sit start as for Good Pud and head straight up

FA: Diego Lopez Iturralde, 4 Jul 2022

Sit start on good horn hold in the centre of the wall, make some big moves to mantle

Sit start with right hand on slopey arete, left hand low on bad crimps, harder than it looks

Start down in the little cave with a good right hand and poor lefthand sloper. Move up and right through some good hold to a dynamic move to finish.

Start matched on an undercling on the pedistal to the right of the small cave. Make one move into Undertow and finish as per that problem.

Stand start as for Undertow right and head straight up

FA: Diego Lopez Iturralde, 4 Jul 2022

Starting a few moves further right on some horrible small sidepulls is a project in the V12 range.
