Description

Tcharkuldu is a camping and rest area just off the Eyre Highway in South Australia. It is famous for Tcharkuldu Rock, which is a granite rock formation just off the highway.

Approach

Accessible by car via the Eyre Highway.

Where to stay

The surrounding area is a large park which allows camping (suitable for tents/campers/caravans). It has a gas BBQ with seating, the "Outback Dunny" toilet, and a small shack with a fireplace. There is also accommodation in the nearby towns

History

The first climbers to visit and develop these boulders were Freddy Dyer, Simon Dyer, Mike Dickson et al. in 2008. A PDF guide was published for the area. Most of the problems uploaded after this have already been done. Kelly T will update as soon as possible.
