Ascents of Warlock

Glad to have finally ticked this one after years of procrastinating. Thanks Elsie for the catch and psych. Hard to grade this one with the exposure, I think the only strenuous crux for me was the very start and the rest was just techy. 20 might be fair but so would 21.

Cheeky route, my solution got a little bouldery, felt hard for the grade, fell several times.

An outrageous pitch to top of a miraculous no fall day

Gets a star for the position (and photos). Thought it was a bit stiff for the grade (but I suck at aretes)

Setting the 2nd draw is a tense business.

Definitely earns its rap as a classic. Fantastic exposed climbing with many committing moves. I found the 22s and 23s I did at Under the Radar easier than this one, even after getting used the position and having the beta.

This climb gets my palms sweaty. Nice climb though. Nice balancy moves near the top.

Climbing in the thunderstorm is not such a good idea...

Powerful at the start and an interesting mix of crimps and balancey high block steps for the rest. Pretty fun and a good aspect.

Felt rather solid for the grade, but great and an amazing position. A few crumbly holds in the middle to keep you on the toes!

Good exposure and climbing!

Wow, such a great climb. Anyone visiting Townsville should not miss it. A fun and balancy arête with a spectacular view that provides a true feeling of exposure. Usually arêtes terrify me but this one feels more fun and awe inspiring than scary. The moves are true to the grade but there's no need for uncertainty because you can see that the holds are good, you just need to commit to moving them. This climb offers really good photo opportunities too. I just love it.
