A major climbing area, mostly traditional multi-pitch routes in a breathtaking setting.

Access issues

The climbing area is in a National Park. Make sure to comply with the current rules such as registering with rangers and adhering to seasonal closures.

Approach

You can access the Black Canyon either from the North Rim or the (more touristy) South Rim. As there is no bridge across the canyon decide early on on which side you want to climb.

Where to stay

There is a campground in the National Park on the North Side, not far from the ranger station.
