攀登 in The Chimney Pots

Good old school climb. Varied climbing, solid crux pitch.

Harder than the grade suggests. Entering the chimney required a very specific sequence. Hard to trust the rock. Spaced pieces guaranteed a real buzz. You need to finish the chimney right for the final pitch of ziggurat.

Some very choosy rock in exposed positions. Seriously scary to climb on with the very limited pro available. Epic to say the least and do not undertake unless you have nerves of steel. The crux is when you enter the chimney of the flying Dutchman. A very specific sequence with the consequence of falling safely down a gully. This move is luckily well protected by a large cam in the underside of the roof. Pitch 2 is the worst rock.

Awesome! Decided to traverse across the first terrace and finish via ziggurat route.

The most serious grade six I have ever been on. Made similar sized climbs in Canada look tame.
