攀登 in The Colosseum

In the dark to clean! Lots of fun.

Huzzah! Average rock, but actually kinda fun for the grade. Pocketses.

2 laps. The first was just getting up it, the second was sorting the beta. Something of a pumpy novelty (a prolonged lip traverse of a cave), but the moves are extremely complex (I love a good Rose move) and funky, in an acrobatic sort of way. Out of time for the second, but could certainly do this in a few more shorts.

The start is easy and pleasant, and the boulder-problem crux is quite improbable and not too hard (though very sharp: I circumcised a finger on a key hold), but everything above it is a disintegrating sandpit. Bailed after the crux, when I got sick of eating sand (literally).

Pooooooowerful! Just the one lap. Falls in a few sections working it out. There's a thin move (the setup to the dyno) which gave me more trouble than the rest of the route, and I'm dubious about sticking on a Send attempt. Great moves and rock, and the thin and punchy finale could certainly spin anyone off.

2nd shot. Flashed to the infamous top crux, but had to come up with some new beta for the send. Great grampians-esque rock. Short and sweet, and tricky for the grade.

Did all moves. Rock at the top is almost like the grampians. Very bouldery, 27 at least.

Awesome moves on great rock. Not many Tasmanian routes have a big dino like this.

Had to do the slab section when it was wet. It was dry by the time I lowered off.

The dyno finish is harder than 23. Got it once off a rest.

Pre clip the 2nd bolt! Varied and fun climbing

Fell all over the start arete, but was really there to try the top crux. Can touch the last hold, but grabbing it feels unlikely....

Interesting, pumpy little route. Fell trying to clip the anchors from the hold out to the left before realising I can clip before comitting to any steepness. On the tough side for a 17.

Sightseeing TR to clean the draws. Crikey..... same cliff, different planet.

Fell at dyno. Need to set feet. Worked better sequence for top. Lfoot scoop, Lhand intermediate, foot swap, rfoot high heel.

Took a fall on the headwall. Struggled on the bouldery start. A real adventure.

Got lost, climbing too far left on the os. Stuck to the money pockets second time.

Been a while since I've been on this. Crux us clipping the anchor.... Poor form.

True, top of its grade and VERY difficult to onsight.

Did all the moves, have left draws on there to project.... They may be there a while.

This route is great.
